Postmaster Ed. Puett left Tues
day for Gainesville to attend the
annual meeting of the Presidential
Postmasters of Georgia, and of the
National Association of Postmas
ters of the Second and Third Class,
which convene in the City ot
Gainesville, Wednesday, Thursday
and Friday of this week. Post
master Puett is Vice-President of
the Georgia Association. It is to
be a notable gathering. Postmas
ters from every State in the Union
are expected to be present, and
Gainesville has ipade preparations
to entertain them royally.

Our protracted meeting has just

The singing at Dr Lipscomb’s
Sunday night was fine and enjoyed
by all present.
Mr Murphy closed his public
school at Coal Mountain Friday
last and will begin a private term

The entertainment at Spot on
Wednesday night was quite a suc
cess. A large crowd was present
and all seemed to enjoy the exer
cises fina.
Hughes & Thomas are putting in
a suction and will be ready to gin
in a few days.
Harrison & Cos are also about
ready to gin.

day.
Schoel closed Thursday. The
patrons carried out dinner and
spent the day. After dinner we
were entertained by the children,
then our noble teacher gave the
children a good talk, then came the
treat and good byes.

len, Jr., and family.
Mr George Mathis and daughter,

People will talk in spite of eye
teeth, as the old saying is, if yoo
help in the Sunday school they will
talk, if you don’t they will talk, if
you sing they wiil talk about it, if
you don’t sing they will talk, so it
