Below I give you list of premium!,
offered in the Agricultural Displays
which are to be held in each and
every County in the Ninth Dis
trict next fall, and I trust you will
publish the same iu the next issue
-of your paper.
Premiums offeied as follows :
One-Horse White Hickory Wag
on. offered by tke White Hickory
Wagon Company, Atlant, Ga, for
the 25 heaviest ears of corn grown
on botton land ; also
Two—Horse Hackney Wagon,
offered by the Hackney Wagon
Company, Wilson, N. C., for the
heaviest 25 ears of corn grown on
up-land; also
Disc Plow, offered by the Chat
tanooga Plow Works, Chattanooga,
Tenn, for the five stalks of cotton
bearing the moit number of bolls.
1 two horse Disc Plow, offered
by the Atlanta Agriculturol Works,
Atlanta. Ga , for the second heav
iest 25 ears of corn grown on any
kind of land,
1 two horse Turn Plow, offered
by the Atlanta Agricultural Works,
Atlanta, Oa., for the second five
stalks of cotton bearing the most
number of bolls.
$5 in go/d, offered by Thomas M.
'Bell, Gainesville, Ga., for the heav
iest ear of corn.
The above six premiums are
to be contested for in the follow
ing Counties only : Gwinnett, Hall,
Jackson, Forsyth, Milton, Chero
kee, Banks, Habersham and Step
hens.
1 White Star Buggy, offered by
■the Atlanta Buggy Cos, Atlanta,
*Ga, for the heaviest Individual
ear of corn grown in the Ninth
District.
1 High Grade Steel Walking
Tlow, offered by B. F. Avery &
'Sons, .Atlanta, Ga, for the heaviest
yam potato grown in the Ninth
District.
1 Buchanan Disc Plow, offered
by the Buchanan Plow & Imple
ment Cos, Norcross, Georgia, for
the heaviest Irish potato grown in
the Ninth District.
1-2 Ton High Grade Fertilizer,
-offered by McClure & Taylor, Du
luth, Georgia, for five stalks of
cotton beaming the most number of
bolls, grown in Forsyth County.
1-2 ton high grade Fertilizer for
second 5 stalks of cotton bearing
the most number of bolls grown in
Forsyth county, offered by the
Gumming Oil & Fertilizer Cos,
In addition to the above prem
iums, there will be cash prizes of
fered for different farm products
grown in, and restricted to each
County. These will be published
at a later date.
Exhibits in corn and cotton will
s be restricted to field conditions.
No exhibitor taking a prize on
one product will be entitled to a
rsecond prize on the same product

GEORGIA—FORSYTH COUNTY.
NOTICE Is hereby given that the un
dersigned as Ordinary of Forsyth
county, will receive at his office be
tween the legal hours of 10 o’clock, a.
m,. and 4 o’clock p m. on the iltli day
of October, 1909, sealed proposals for
the keeping, maintaining, caring for and
nursing of the paupers of said county,
The paupers of said county iet hereun
der will be so let upon the following
conditions and requisitions, to-wit;
1. The person to whom the paupers
sre let and awarded hereunder will be
required to enter into a written con
tract to receive all the paupers of the
county of Forsyth, consisting of all per
sons who are now paupers, having been
previously adjudged such, except Min
toria Puckett, and all persons who may
be adjudged paupers by the Ordinary for
and during the period for which they
are let. Said coutract is to stipulate ami
require that the contractar is to take
and receive said paupers as aforesaid
with the agreement and undertaking on
his part to support, maintain, care foi,
board and clothe said paupers, includ
ing physicians bills and burial expenses,
and any and all other expenses incident
to and necessary to care for said pau
pei'B in a decent, good and humane man
ner during the life of the contract. The
period for which the paupers are to be
let hereunder will be for five years from
the date of the contract,
2. Said contract will stipulate that
upon failure of the contractor to well
and truly perform any and all his obli
gations under and by virtue thereof the
Ordinary, upon being notified or satisfied
thereof, snail have the authority to anul
and set aside said contract and relet the
paupers, and as a penalty for such fail
ure in the performance of duty by the
contractor, he shall forfeit to the county
for which suit may be instituted and re
coye-y had in the courts of the county,
any and all loss or damage which may
be sustained in coasequence of such re
letting aod and anulling of said contract
3. Said contract shall further stipulate
that in the event there should, during
the life of said contract, be a change in
the system of caring for the poor or
paupers of the county of Forsyth, such
as upon recommendation of the Grand
Jury, the buying of a farm and house*
on which to care for and maintain the
paupers of the county, then as soon as
the county is ready and equipped and so
demands, said contract to be void and
the paupers in custody and keeping
turned over to such authorities as may
be designated by the Ordinary. In the
event such a change should be made as
above indicated reasonable notice there
of is to be given the contractor.
4. Any person submitting a proposal
hereunder will be required to file with
his bid a good and solvent bond for the
faithful performance of his contract in
the event the contract for keeping,
maintaining, earing for, boarding, cloth
ing, nursiug and supporting the paupers
of the county lor the time mentioned,
should be awarded to him,
5. Payments by the county to the con
tractor liereunder will be made by coun
ty warrants drawn upon the county
treasurer on the first day of December
annually of eaali year.
I reserve the right to reject any and
all bids. This 3rd day of Sept. 1909.

Road Notice.
GEORGIA—FORSYTH COUNTY.
To all whom it may concern: All
persons interested are hereby notified
that if no good cause be shown to the
contrary an order will be granted by the
undersigned on the i6’h day of Septem
ber, 1909, establishing a change in the
Canton and Gumming public road as
marked out by the Commissioners ap
pointed for that purpose, commencing
near the residence of S W Hawkins and
running round the hill and intersecting
the old road near the Cobb Creek
through the lands of S W Hawkins and
Murphy Bishop. Given under my hand
and official signature, this 17th day of
August, 1909.
