You Must Work.
Whether you handle a pick or
pen, a wheelbarrow or a set of
books, dig ditches or edit a paper,
ring an auction bell or write funny
things, you must work, don’t be
afraid of killing yourself with work.
Work gives an appetite for meals,
gives the appreciation of a holiday
There are young men who do not
work, but the world is not proud
of them. It does not even know
their names ; it simply speaks of
them as old so and so’s boys. The
great busy world does not even
know that they are here. So find
out what you want to do and do
it ; take off your coat and make a
dust in the world- The busier you
are the less deviltry you will get
nto, the sweeter will be your sleep
ana better satisfied will the world
be with you.

The man who stops his paper
because he is a “little short” and
keeps right on smoking “fifteen
cent or two-for-a-quarter” cigars
lays himself open to the suspicion
of being “off.” The man who
dou’t want to take the paper be
cause he is taking too many now,
hadn’t ought to feel aggrieved
when said paper forgets to maka
any spacial mention of his fine
horses which sold for a big price,
or fails to reprint the complimen
tary notice a paper in some other
city makes of him not knowing
how poor a friend he is to the
printer. The man who sticks a
card in his show window offering
his stock and the business for sale
and makes no mention of his offer
in the paper, ought to take it, no
matter how low it is. He is too
fai behind his time to make busi

A Kind Word.
A kind word costs but little, but it
may bless all day the one to whom
it is spoken. Nay, have not kind
words been spoken to you which
have lived in your heart through

What Money Won’t Do.
Money is a powerful facor now

It will buy a position in the
world—but it can’t buy the breed

that positicn. It will buy the
appetite to enjoy them
It will buy superb clothes—but
it can’t negotiate for the proper

It will bny a wife—but it can’t
buy a woman’s love.
This is Worth Remembering
Whenever you have a cough or cold,
just remember that Foley’s Honey and
