CHELSEA
It’s nice to have a good time
and live in a grand country’ like
our good America. But yet when
we consideer difference of opin
ions of men we are made to won
der why it is that our nation has
been crowned with the success
that it has.
For instance some farmers will
plant larger cotton crops and
tiien exclaim, “(), we farmers
can't live if we don’t legislate
some more on corporations and
manufacturers.” "“Why,’' we
ask. Then he explains, “Well,
things tare not in proportion.”
he. says, “For instance, cotton is
only 10 cents and corn SI.OO a
bushel, meat 15 cents, flour $4.
How can we pay such prices with
10 cent cotton.” Now, is’nt it
strange to think that some farm
ers can’t realize that all these
products come from the farm.
But that’s the way it goes. The
same about good roads. They
will curse the roads and the
county officers, then you begin
to discuss some method to build
roads and they will say, It will
never do to issue bonds, it will
tax us to death and some of these
commissioners will gobble it up.’
We will say, “llow are you go
ing to get roads?” “Why, make
the boys work.” That old idea.
I hope that by the time these
boys are men that they will be
educated to know that the only
way to have good roads is to
have no money, and that the
only’ adequate way is to issue
bonds. Then every man pays an
equal share for what he enjoys.

DIRTTOWN VALLEY
Never before has the people of
Dirttowa valley had such cause
to pray for a revival. We are
not united as God’s children or
this blessing would come. Let
all denominations, Baptists, Pres
byterians, and Methodist unite
and besiege the throne of Grace
daily- until the answer comes.
Whiskey is ruining this commu
nity. God can remove this soul
blightning curse from our midst
if we ask Him to in faith and
meet the conditions upon which
wee are to expect an answer If
we see a brother in danger of
drowning and do nothing toward
rescuing him except praying that
be may not drown could we ex
pect our friend to be saved
from his peril? Are we Chris
tians making any united effort
to win our xveaker brother to
Christ? There is no half way
ground. We are on Christ’s side
or _the devil’s. We must go to
our friends if needs be and tell
them that we are praying for
them, and we are not to fear
xvhat others say or think. We
should fear God only and please
Him that is all He reguires of us.
When God’s children unite in
one purpose that to be more con
cerned about our unconverted
and drinking friends than any
thing else and are praying and
working together to win our
lost ones to Christ, then and not
until then may we expect a bless
ing in dear old Dirttown valley.
May God help his people to
see their opportunity to
for His-kingdom. If we are wil
ling. God can use us- in making
this world better and if we are
not willing xvc should ask God
to make us willing to he used
for him.
•Let us he careful how we walk
before the worldly ones, for
they are ever watching us. We
are looking forward to meetings
at our churches to be held this
summer and let us pray that God
may revive us again and if we
do our part the blessing will
come, for God is willing to bless
those who desire it. See John
