The marriage of Miss Ruby Duncan,
of Trion, and Theo Hancock, also of
Trion, came as a surprise and a source
of interest to their many friends and
relatives of this section.
The marriage ceremony was quietly
solemnized at the home of Rev. Hogue,
at Trion, the Rev. Hogue officiating.
Mrs. Hancock, the bride is the attrac
tive daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. F. Dun
can, of Trion. With her charming per
sonality and pleasing disposition, she is
popular with a large circle of friends.
She is a graduate of Subligna High
school.

MOULDER GORDON.
Miss Lounette Gordon, of Trion, and
James L. Moulder, Jr., of Birmingham,
Ala., were married Saturday. Dec. 16,
at high noon at the Central Baptist
church in Chattanooga, Tenn., with the
pastor, Dr. Ralph L. Moore, officiating
m the presence of the families.
Tile bride is the daughter of the late
Samuel B. and Elizabeth Barbour Gordon,
of Chattooga county. Her father was a
member of the prominent Gordon family
of Georgia, and a cousin of Gen. John
B. Gordon.
The bride is a sister of Misses Jewell
and Beatrice Gordon, of Trion, and of
Samuel B. Gordon, of New Orleans, La.
She is a graduate of Mary P. Willing
ham school at Blue Ridge, and attended
the University of Georgia for two years.
She has been a member of the faculty of
Trion schools for several years.
Mt. Moulder is the eldest son of Mr.
and Mrs. James L. Moulder, Sr., of Min
ter, Ala. lie is the brother of Mrs. W.
E. Wade, of Memphis, and William Moul
der, who is superintendent of Tyler High
chool. Tyler, Ala. He was educated at
the University of Alabama, where he re
ceived his A. B. and M. A. degrees' and
was a member of the facutly vfor two
years. He is a member of Alpha Kappa
Psi fraternity.
Mr. Moulder has been associated with
the First National bank, of Birming
ham, for the past four years.
Mr. Moulder and his bride went to
Montgomery for a few days and spent the
remaining holidays in Birmingham.
The bride’s wedding outfit was light
rose beige with navy accessories and
shoulder bouquet of gardenias. For trav
eling the bride donned a dark rose coat.
MISS GAINES WEDS
REV. PIERCE
Os interest to her many friends in Sum
merville and Chattooga county is the
marriage of Miss Mary Frances Gaines
to Rev. William Hobert Pierce, of Rock
mart, Ga.
Rev. and Mrs. Pierce were married in
the presence of a host of friends and rel
atives in a very impressive ring ceremony
Dec. 23 at 8 pan. at the Piedmont Ave
nue Baptist church. Rev. C. D. Durham,
pastor, officiated.
Mrs. Pierce is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. R. P. Gaines, of Summerville. Rev.
Pierce is a popular young Baptist min
ister of Rockmart. This popular young
couple are making their home in Rock
mart.
