NOTICE
Although the Summerville Hospital has been
closed, Dr. Gist will continue his practice at the
same location, retaining a portion of the first
floor of the Hospital Building as his office and
clinic. Alterations are under way to afford a new
street entrance and reception room for the clinic.

The meeting was called by the
Chamber of Commerce, after
they had pledged to sponsor the
building of a county hospital.
After last week’s announce
ment of the closing of Summer
ville’s only hospital on November
30, the Medical Society appealed
to the people of the county to
get behind a move to secure a
hospital.
The only hospital remaining in
Chattooga County is the already
crowded Riegel Community Hos
pital, at Trion, which is operated
bj’ Riegel Textile Corporation
chiefly for the benefit of their
employes. Other patients are ad
mitted, however.
