"Fine Arts" Is
Topic of Woman's.
Club Meet Friday
The Summerville Woman’s
Club held it’s monthly meeting
at the Riegeldale Tavern at
noon Friday, with Mrs. Eugene
Hamner presiding.
Mrs. William Gist introduced
the program “Fine Arts” and
told of the work that Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Harmon and Guy
Walton had done in the school
in bringing about music appreci
ation. She pointed out the ex<-
ceptional fine efforts of Mrs.
Harmon and Mr. Walton in the
development of the Summerville
School Glee Club and of their
work in local Churches and
other organizations. Mr. Walton
gave two vocal selections ac
companied by Mrs. Harmon.
W. F. Aldred, President of
Chattooga County Chamber of
Commerce, spoke on “The Need:
of a County Hospital.” He urged
all women to vote the proposed
bond issue on May 28. Mrs. Gist
[and Mrs. Hamner spoke briefly
in favor of the hospital.
Mrs. Mark Cooper, a new
member was introduced by Mrs.
Hamner. Guests were Mrs. Bill
King, of Clinton, S. C., and Mrs.
John Bankson.
