Thursday evening at the Court
of Honor in Summerville.

awards by Scout Executive C.

Ordered To Report
For Active Duty
Charles Green , of Summer
ville, who served in the famed
Eighth Air Force during the last
war as a radio operator and gun
ner, will soon be back in uni- [
form. Mr. Green is one of the
first men here to be ordered
back into service.
Green received orders Monday
to report to Keesler Field, |
Biloxi, Miss. Aug. 22 for active I
duty for a period of one year. *
There he will be given physical j
examinations for two days, and [
if satisfactorily passes these, he
will be sent to Ellington Field,
Texas.
During World War 11. Mr.
Green served in the European
Theatre with the Eighth Ait-
Force and flew on 30 missions.
He was in service for three years,
and received the Distinguished
Flying Cross, Air Medal with
‘three Oak Leaf Clusters, and
European theatre ribbon. His
group received the Presidential
Citation.
Mr. Green will retain his
former rating of Technical
Sergeant.
Since. being discharged in
October, 1945, Green has been
employed by a Summerville
'furniture concern and later by a
Rome furniture dealer.
He is married and is the fa
[ther of two children, Bill, 28-
i months-old and Wayne, fiv
[ months-old.
