Pam Tawzer, dynamic
young Home Extension
Economist, shares some of her
favorite recipes with readers
this week.
Pam is in a position to,
perhaps, influence more ladies
and young people in Chattooga
County than any other woman.
She works with some 800
youngsters in the 4-H Clubs
and several hundred women in
Homemakers Clubs.
Her areas of work include
many exciting programs from
teaching women to understand
the workings of the gadgets
under the hoods of their cars
through a “Dainty Mechanics”
course to training them in the
exacting art of making roses
for cake decorations.
When it comes to cooking
and preparing attractive foods,
Pam is tops. Food that looks
pretty, tastes better, she con
tends. She uses a lot of gar
nishes, such as a marachino
cherry atop whip cream on a
dessert, a border of cherry
tomatoes around a platter of
fish and hush puppies. It’s
surprising how much more eye
appeal a dish has with a dash of
paprika on top. The way you
arrange sandwiches or other
food on a platter makes all the
difference in the world in eye
appeal.
Milk from a pretty pitcher
(or tea) just tastes better than
if the milk carton is setting on
the table.
