London, May IS.- Nine English tou

Russian Situation Not So Alarming.
New York. May lit.—In spite of the
terrifying reports spread so industri
ously by the foreign press, the situa
tion In Russia generally Is not such as
to warrant the slightest alarm, says a
Moscow dispatch to The llcrald.
“We have art wark, burnt work, bent
iron, drawing, handicraft, cooking,
home economics and many other things
which will please the most fancifnl
taste We need room forthese things
and the people can help ns and they
alone.

! to teach and how to teach it
have learned it. Being welledncated in
books is by no means all, there is some
thing which cannot be found in books,
it lies beyond anything else earth.y—It
is being good for the suke of goodness
and for the love of humanity. Here the
teaohers are taught that every child
have the desire to do right cultivated in
his nature. Every teacher, who is
really a trne teacher shonld possess that
soul beauty which is aken to heaven,
and carry it daily into the school room
with her, and increase her own stock
and store of it by daily sharing i; with
her pupils. Unselfishness is one of
those rare virmes that increases in pro
portion to how much it is shared with
others.-The morals of a child are ; nst as
much importance as its intellect. What
is more beautifnl than the nufolc.ing of
a little child's mind liko the rose when
it gradually opens to the sun Kind-
ness begets kindness and love begets
love.”

Easton. Pa., May 19.—As a result of
the anthracite coal miners’ strike the

only three of the 15 crews usually em

Won’t follow Advice After Paying for It,
In a recent article a prominent physi
cian says, “It Is next to impossible for
the physician to get his patients to carry
out any prescribed oourse of hygiene or
diet to the smallest extent; he has bnt
one resort left, namely, the drug treat
ment.” When medicines are used for
chronic constipation, the most mild and
gentle obtainable, suoh as Chamberlain's
Stomach & Liver Tablets, shonld be
employed. Their use is not followed by
constipation as they leave the bowels in
a natural and healthy condition. For
