Pupils’ Recital.
The pnpils of Miss Mabel Hodgson’s
musio class gave their annual recital
last evening at the home of Miss Hodg
son, which was largely attended.
The pnpils acquitted themselves in a
splendid manner and Bhowed a marked
degree of proflcienoy in both the tech
nique and spirit of the nnmbera which
they rendered.
After the recital, the prizes were
awarded to the following yonng ladies:

completed by which the Seaboard Air
Line System will float $0,300,000 for
bonds to build a new road into Binning
ham, Ala.
The Associated Press correspondent
at Baltimore says in this connection that
arrangements are also under way to
tannch the new C. A. & C. Railroad
which will be built from Chattanooga to
Charleston via Athens and Augusta, tlx
main line of whioh will be from Athens
to Charleston.
The Seaboard people are the most pro
gressive railroad builders in the Soutl
ucw and it is believed that the road will
be in process of construction in a few
months.
Mr. A H. Hodgson, of this city, is
one of the incorporators of the now road
and the charter provides that the shops
of the road will be located in Athens.
