However, thanks fnthe Stanton House,
they conformed fully to their part, and
fuviti lied the inu-ic. which was good,
and also a most magnificent ball-room,
which was lit up w irh la* gas jet-. Al
ter the hull, there was music, promena
ding’, wooing, card-playing, billiards,
etc. Several returned on the .'1.411 a. to.
train,others remained until afternoon,
and some stilt later.

cent, more attractive to visitors than it
is at present. We make these sugges
tions: About the fish lakes of Major
Winn and (ten. I'hill ip- are splendid lo
cation- for pleasure houses, rende/voir ,
etc. At each lake, a small house could
he built upon the plan of a summer
hou eat a nominal cost ;over the ground
could he pjlneed hammocks, chair tents,
rustic chairs, Ac.; barques could be
placed upon the lakes ; croquet grounds
could he arranged; and for those who
do not engage either in ” game- or tow -
ing,” could spend their evenings and
morning- in reading- in tin- delightful
shade. The mineral spring at Major
