We would call attention to the new
advertisement of Mr. J. B. Wright,
the clothing man. His fall and win
ter stock appeals to overy lover of
fine and stylish clothing. This house
has always been popular with the
boys, and never more so than since
it has had the services of Mr. Felbam
Neal, formerly - of Atlanta.^ This
young gentleman understands the
clothing trade to a nicety, added
to which is a pleasantness and ur
banity of manner that makes him a
most agreeable , salesman. Mr.
Wright’s island business takes him
from the' city a great deal of the
time, and he is fortunate in the pos
session of such a representative.
V* Not* Yet.’ ~
Some uneasy people are call ing for
a cessation of a quarantine, thinking
all danger passed. Don’t be too quick,
gentlemen. We have gained a great
victory—^don’t throw away the van
tage ground gained by allowing oven
a single caso to coine in at the last
moment It would damage us more
than tbe-gain would be. Don’t lift
the quarantine yet No, not yet.

Sad Death.
Mr. E. A. McWhorter, of St. Ma
rys, Ga., reached the city this morn
ing in route from Anniston, Ala.,
whither he had gone to see his young
est son, who was ill there of typboid
fever. At Atlanta be met and pass
ed, without knowing it, the corpse of
his dear boy in charge of his wife and
older son, who had proceeded him
several days to the bed-side of the
sick boy. On 'reaching Anniston
Mr. McWhorter heard t>f the death
of his son for the .first time, and irn-
nediate^retraced his steps, reach
ing hpre at three o’clock this morn
ing. Ho left on the Cracker Boy for
Satilla Bluff thi^ morning where he
will be met by his buggy.
Tho others reached here last Sat
urday and chartered the steamer In
ca and carried the remains of the
dead son back to his home. It will
be a sad meeting this evening be
tween that heart-broken father and
his stricken family* As Mr. Mc
Whorter narrated the sad tale to us
this morning his big heart swelled
with emotion and often choked his
utterance. The young man had but
a abort time since left the paternal
roof to enter business in this new
field, but the summons came and the
cord was snapped, leaving naught
but sorrow in its track.
All seeds are warranted to be per

Whose Fault is it ?
There was no mail car ol the E. T.
V. <fc G. train yesterday, hence no
mail was distributed along tho line,
the route agent simply bringing the
pouches through, and quietly listen
ing to the cuss-words of the people
along the road who .wanted their
mail. Now if the whole mail system
was suspended for Sunday, we would
have nothing to say, for that would
agree fully with our views, but if the
route agent has to go, the people who
wont their mail should have it.—
Whoso fault is it that no car was pro
vided ? *•
