Cotton Screw, where two of them are notv standing
and grill remain until October for inspection. I be-
it is the cheapest, by half, ever offered for the
purpose of pressing cotton or hay,as the frame,screw
pin, and leaver* are all of wrought iron. It should
be attached to the gin-house, and have if put up
through the floor, as the ordinary preaa—the levers
being only five feet m length—to have tlie width of
the hoiiao and, 18 or 20 feet iu length, the lint could
then be placed all around the screw. Then a man
ea take five hand* and pack as many fm-hmidrcd
pound-balca in one day, withs little labor to the
hand, * the same five aud two more, with a horse,
can on the wood-screw in the same time. Three
hands can put up one and take it down, end it ean be
carried at one load witli firnr mules to any point.—
As this is for the public eye I will give the amount
of timber necessary'for completing one:
