EASY TO DARKEN
GRAY HAIR
A Wonderful Recipe That Is
Not Sticky or Mussy—Harm
less, but Darkens Evenly.
When your hair turns gray, white,
prematurely gray, faded or thin or
falling, try the following: On retiring,
comb the hair free from snarls. Rub
Q-Ban on the hair and scalp like a
shampoo; use plenty of Q-Ban, as it
can’t hurt you and is not greasy or
messy, but delightful to use. Be sure
it rencSLs the scalp and roots of the
hair. Then allow hair to fall free and
dry all night. The gray disappears
and a few more applications of Q-Ban,
like above, will darken the hair so
evpnly and naturally no one can pos
sibly suspect you are using a hair color
i : torer. In addition, the above treat
men* stops dandruff and itching of the
scalp, stops falling hair and promotes
its growth. Q-Ban is very popular
with ladies, as it has the effect of
pivin:: your hair that appearance of
thickness, glossiness and fascinating
beauty so much admired by all. A

on their bonded indebtedness of the
state would endorse all such bonds,”
declared U. S. Census lhrector Wil
liam J. Harris, who Is In Atlanta to
preside at the meeting of the state
democratic executive committee, of
which he is chairman, when that body
convenes Saturday.
Friends of the distinguished Ceor
glrn are congratulating him on the
remarkable work he has accomplished
since he became a part of the Wil
son administration. It was a for
gone conclusion that he would fill
the office with ability, but that he
should have brought order and instant
results out of a condition oT semi
chaos in the census department, was
astonishing.
Senator Harris' discussion of the
bond situation in Georgia is of spe
cial interest at this time. 'Georgia
bonds bearing three per cent interest
can be sold at par or nearly so,” ho
says, "while the average Interest
paid on bonds of towns, cities and
counties, including expenses, is give
1 er cent.
“This saving In interest charges it
used as a sinking fund placed in banks
at interest or invested in bonds
would in thirty years pay all the
bonded indebtedness of the towns and
counties of Georgia.
“I have already taken the matter
up with the city and county officials
of Georgia,” continues Senator Harris,
"and will go before the legislature at
the coming session and urge that the
people be permitted to vote on a con
stitutional amendment, allowing the
state to endorse county and munici
pal bonds and save the tax payers
of Georgia nearly a half million dol
lars a year. Governor Slaton is in
terested in the subject of taxation,
and I* hope he may feel justified in
recommending this in his message to
the legislature.
“I shall also feel it my duty as di
rector of census to present the Tacts
to officials of the other states. I am
trying to make the census bureau
useful to the people of the country, j
and am always especially gratified 1
when my duties enable me to be ot
service to my home people.
“My official investigations have
brought the above facts to my atten- !
tion, and I deem it to be a subject of !
such importance to our people that l <
shall attempt to bring the facts to
the public generally.
DR. HICKS PREACHED
AI FIRS! BAPTIST
Considerable Number Present,
Despite Bad Weather. Serv
ices Each Night at 8:30.
Music By Chorus Choir.
Despite the inclement weather
there was a considerable number in
attendance at the service last night
at the First Baptist Church. Dr.
.1. E. Hicks, pastor o,f the First Bap
tist Church of Danville, Va., preach
ed his first sermon In Augusta and
made a splendid impression. Dr.
Hicks spoke veTy earnestly on the
subject “Atmosphere” and stressed
the importance of spiritual atmos
phere in a church. Indeed, he said
it was essential for a spiritual atmos
phere to prevail else there could be
no successful revival.
It is hoped that the weather will
be more propitious tonight and
throughout the remainder oT the meet
ing. Dr. Hicks is a friend of the pas
tor of the First Baptist of many years
standing and was introduced to the
people of the church by Dr. Jones last
night in an affectionate manner. Dr.
Jones said that is was not solely be
cause Dr. Hicks was his friend that
lie took pleasure in introducing him to
the people of the First Baptist Church
but, also because Dr. Hicks was a
consecrated man and able minister.
There will be services each night at
8:30 o'clock.
There is excellent singing by the
chorus choir. Every one is invited.
