Noted Artist's Wife Finds All His Books
in Workshop
MRS. FLAGG, SKETCHED BY HER HUSBAND.
New York.—Some of the* moat beautiful hand-tooled books on exhi
bition at a Fifth avenue book store recently were the handiwork of Mrs.
James Montgomery Flagg, wife of the well known artist, who has put into
beautiful bindings practically all of Mr. Flagg’s stories and tbe auto
graphed books of many of his fe’low craftsmen. When the work on
Mrs. Flagg’s books was admired, she said: “It is really a fascinating line
of work for women to take up; Ms engrossing and interesting
rijost things women try to do. I know' rare books are usually the only
ones so favored us to have special bindings for them, but gifts of lim
ited autographed editions from my friends I consider worthy of a bet
ter dnss. so that it has been a real labor of love to adorn them.” Mrs.
Flagg works three days every week in a bindery downtown, surrounded
by the queer wooden machines us'd in forwarding and sewing, a real
workshop filled with all kinds of necessary tools.

Cut Her Body Up And
Put Pieces In Furnace
Vancouver, B. C.—The 17-year-old
Ghlnese boy who confessed today to the

struck her with a chair and stunned her
and then choked her to death, he said.
Later he took her body to the basement
where he cut it up and placed it in the
furnace, piece by piece. He hid the
clothing in order to convince Mr. Mil*
bird that his wife had gone out in the
morning. ,
The skull and othef bones have been
found in the > hhnney beyond the fur
