Swift & Co. To Spend Quarter
of Million Dollars in Augusta
Have Purchased 10 Acres of Land For slo,ooo—-Will Have
Fertilizer Plant, Oil Mill and Factory to Manufacture By-
Products of Cotton Seed Oil.
Swift & Company will spend $250,-
000 or more in Augusta in the near
future. This big Chicago concern
with branches all over the country
will erect a cotton seed oil mill, a fer
tillher factory and a factory to manu
facture by the by products of octtoa
seed oil.
It has been known tor rorae time
that representatives of Swift & Co,
some time ago signed an agreement
to purchase ten acres of land 3>ist
Inside the city limits, hounded by the
Savannah Road, the belt line and the
Augusta Southern Railway. The
deeds to this property were signed up
during the week Just, past and work
will begin on the piants within a few
weeks.
