Notice in hereby given in accordance
with the provisions of the following Or
dinance. that the election therein pro
vided for, will be held in Augusta.
Georgia, on the first day of June, 1914,
for tne purpose and upon the terms and
conditions in such Ordinance fully set
forth:
AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR
THE iRKUANCtf. SECURITY AND
HALE OF SEVEN HUNDRED AND
FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($760,.
000) OF RONDS FOR THE PURPOSE
OF PROTECTION AGAINST FLOOD.
The City Council of Augusta hereby or
dains—

bv this ordinance, to determine upon
the issuance of bonds provided for in

advertisements for the County Richmond
are published for thirty days next, pre
ceding the dnv of election notifying the
qualified voters of Augusta that on the
first day of June. 1914. on election will
he held to determine the question wheth
er the bonds provided for hv thin ordi
nance shsll he issued. Riich notice shall
specify what amount of bonds are to he
Issued, for wbst purpose xvhat Interest
they are to hear, bow much principal
end interest to be paid annually and
when to he fully paid off AH persons
voting at such election In favor of the
issuance of such bonds shall have writ
fen or printed on their ballots the words
'*For bonds for the purpose of protection
against floods'* nnd all persons onposed

words "Against bonds for the purpose of
protection against floods."

bonds he esaented to by two-thirds of
the qualified voters of Augusta and
should such amount of bonds be ascer
tained to lie within the limit of bonds
authorised to he Issued, under the f*nr\-
stitutlonnJ Amendment as hereinafter
fully set forth there shall be authorised
to he Issued nnd sold by The Cltv Coun
cil of Augusta under the provisions of
this ordinance, Seven Hundred and Fifty
Thousand TVdlara ( $760,000) principal
amount of bonds, the proceeds of*which
shall hs used for the purpose of pro
tection against flood* Such bond*
shall be known ns "City of Augusta
Flood Protection Bonds of 1914." shall he
of the denomination of <>ne Thousand
TVdlars ($.1000) each, shall benr date the
first day of July, nineteen hundred and
fourteen (1914). shall b* payable as to
the principal amount thirty years after
date, shsll hear interest nt the rate of
four and one half per centum (4t* per
cent.) per annum, payable send annual
ly on the flrat days of January and of
July of esch year, such interest to be
represented by coupons attached to said
bonds, each coupon being for the sum of
