as in the recent past and from the
beginning of the game to the finish
they demonstrated the fact to many
a Columbus fan.
In fact it was demonstrated
so well that the heretofore knockers
in that burg were one and all for
"Babe’s family.” Both Clark and
Smith, of the local bunch, succeeded
in rapping out a home-run apiece.
The game that was played yesterday
will go down in Sallie history as one
of the best exhibitons that has ever
been pulled before, that is, in this sec
tion. From the beginning to the end
GOOD NEWS OF
I GREAT THING
THAT HAS BECOME THE TALK
OF THOUSANDS.
There is a death at the end of ev
ery life, hut as we trayel on toward
the grave we hope to be blessed with
good health, and when we have a
triend who has suffered for years
«ith some painful malady, it is good
news indeed, when we are told of that
friends complete recovery, and when
we hear of the remedy that has made
the cure we are bound to . have con
fidence in it. This is why Globe Tonic
is so well spoken of over the country.
One of the many reporting marvel
ous results is Mr. H. D. Strom, R. F.
D. No. 1, N. Augusta, who said: "I
have had weak kidneys and bladder
trouble —-had to get up 4 and 5 times
every night. Had severe pains at
small of back and across the hips.
Used 2 bottles of Globe Tonic and
can now rest all night without hav
ing to get up at all and pains are all
gone. My brother has had rheuma
tism for a long time, has spent more
than a thousand dollars and kept get
ting worse. He got to where he could
not get out of his chair. Could not be
moved without suffering intense pain.
He has used 4 bottles of Globe Tonic
and is now getting about fine. He has
sent in for 3 more bottles.”
Call and have a talk with the dem
onstrators, it costs you nothing. Try
a few samples of Globe Tonic. We
give Tree samples every day. If you
want Globe Tonic at home we sell
(while the demonstration is on) the
regular $1 bottles for 50c., or 3 bot
tles for $1.25 and guarantee it.
Call at 1264 Broad Street and get
the samples.

there was no end to the sensational
plays. Columbus also played a very
strong game (the strongest yet) which
was featured by the sensational run
ning catch of a foul fly by Fulmar.
Combacks Here.
The local aggregation arrived in
Augusta this morning and all appear
ed to he in the best of shape. Man
ager Brouther.; stated when asked by
a Herald representative this morning
in regard to the game of this after
noon: "Why certainly we are going to
win this afternoon, at least, we are
going to try.”
When “Babe” says a thing like that
“it simply means something.”
Brouthers has his fighting blood up
now and that at least means a great
deal, as has been proven by the re
cent trip on the road. In fact the
‘‘Old Boy” lias gained somewhat of a
reputation as a “beefer” (especially in
Columbus, where he copped two games
out of the series—sour grapes, maybe).
Speaking of a "beefer," why, there’s
nothing to it: "Babe’s” simply a fight
er, and that is what a team needs,
especially a club that is going to make
a successful “come-back."
When the local aggregation marched
out on the field this afternoon at 4
o’clock it somewhat startled the loyal
baseball fans in this city. Why there
was practically a new team represent
ing this burg. In fact there was no
player on the team, with the excep
tion of Clark, Neyenhouse and Brouth
ers, who had started with the club and
is still on it.
Now that the players are definitely
decided upon the Combacks are ex
pected to gently soar to the top of
the percentage column; just keep your
eyes on these men during the twelve
consecutive games to be played here,
and all of the fans will think so too —
in fact, know it.

Albany Had Chance After
Chance to Score, But Bad
Baserunning Stopped It.
Albany.—Savannah copped the last
game of the scries from Albany yes
terday by a score of 5 to 2. The local
aggregation had chance after chance
to score, but bad base-running and
inside baseball by the visitors robbed
the locals of runs. Albany was crip
pled by the absence of Parker from
the game. He had been called out
of the city. The features were the
hitting of Mayer and the playing of
Hanna in left, who accepted Heven
chances.
