3 JEFFERSON COUNTY
NEGROES ARE TO HANG
Atlanta, Ga.—William and James Hart
and John Paschal, the negroes convict
ed of murdering Mrs. Seth Irby in Jef
ferson county, will hang according to
♦he decision of the state supmere court
handed down yesterday, affirming their
conviction.
The supreme court holds that the evi
dence was fully sufficient to support the
verdict and that no error of law was
committed in the trial of the cases.
These are the three negroes who were
brought to Atlanta and tried before
Judge Ben Hill of the Fulton superior
court, because of fear of mob violence
in Louisville, the county seat of Jef
ferson.

Police Chief Beavers received this morn

It is said that they have sent similar
messages to every sheriff between here
and St. Paul, Minn. The Jacksonville
crowd are positive they know the cul

With The Famous La Victoire Corsets
Pont Forget the Special Sale and Demonstra
tion This Week by Madam Hoppe, the Ex
pert Corsetiere Direct from the Manufacturer.
The name La Victoire on a corset stands for perfection in every sense of the word.
It matters not how well you are gowned with a corset not suited for your figure, it
is impossible for a perfect fit.
If you have never tried a La Victoire Corset, just ask the lady who has. For style,
comfort and ease, while walking, sitting or riding, they have not an equal.
Opportunities to secure such corset knowledge and be fitted by such an experienced
fitter are seldom offered. Don't let this chance slip by you, for the advice is absolutely
free and which means lots to any woman who is not properly corseted. While buying
just as well have the model best suited for your figure when it costs no more.

“BLIND TIGER*KING”
GETS A SSO FINE
Atlanta, Ga.—Dan Shaw, the notorious
“blind tiger king.” is again ‘‘in our
midst." He arrived yesterday from
Chattanooga, and received by way of an
official welcome a SSO fine soaked on
him by the police court on a contempt
charge growing out of his flight from
Atlanta last year.
Shaw skipped town Just after he had
been summoned to appear to answer a
charge of gambling. Since that time
he had never returned to Atlanta, until
the present. He was recognized in the
carnival throng at Five Points and
quickly taken into custody.
“I'm mighty sorry to see you back,”
said the police court Judge, “I thought
the community was rid of you for good.”
The SSO fine was simply for contempt
in running away after receiving a court
summons, Shaw is still in a cell, minus
the fifty, and will be arranged toinor--
row on the old gaming charge.
