McCormack was out at first by
Clark's throw after catching Ills slow
bounder.
Most Interesting One.
In the sixth inning the Combacks
scored two runs. This was the most
Interesting Inning so here It is:
Berger was the first man to face
Smith (the new Columbus (wirier—
i colleger) and rapped a bounder to
third which was thrown to first just
ahead or him Kelly walked. Wal
lace fanned at the first one and Kelly
tele second Wallace's was good
for a two bagger which brought in
Kelly. Hawkins whh out via the
IHgglim-Hawklus rout. (W|iv didn't
his namesake drop the pill?) Wal
lace was safe on third Snyder spnt
a slow bounder over second’s head
which let Walllace cross the home
plate. Burgess then flew out to cen
ter.
Still Tied-Up.
The Conilmcks and the Tigers are
still tled-up for second place at the
foot, of the percentage column. The
game this afternoon and the follow
Ing afternoons will decide as to which
team Is the superior. So evidently
there is certainly going to he some
hard-fought battles between these
two clubs for the next two days to
come.
