The City Council of Augusta hereby or
dains:—
Section l—That on the first day or
June. 1914, there shall be held In this
City an election under the reßlstry list

March 2nd. 1914. and approved March

vide for the registration of voters for
an .election or elections to he held to de
termine upon the issuance of bonds and

first day of June, 1914, an election wli

nance shall he Issued. Such notice Hha.ll
specify what amount of bonds are to be
Issued, for what purpose, what Interest
they are to hear, how much principal
and interest to he paid annually and
when to he fully pa d off. Ail persons
voting at such election in favor of the
issuance of such bonds shall have writ
ten or printed on their ballots the words
'For bonds for the purpose of protection
Against floods" and ad persons opposed
to the issuance of such bonds shrill have
written or printed on their ballots the
words "Against bonds for the purpose of
protection against floods."
I Section 2 Should the issuance of such
bond* be iiSHcnted to by two-thirds of

should such amount of bonds he ascer
tained to be within the limit of bonds
authorised to be issued, under the Con
stitutional Amendment as hereinafter
fully set forth there shall be authorized

cil of Augusta under the provisions of

Thousand Dollars ($750,000) principal
amount of bonds, the proceeds of which
shall he used for the purpose of pro
tection against floods Such bonds
shall be known as "City of Augusta
Flood Protection Rortfl* of 1914," shall he
of the denomination of One Thousand
Dollars ($.1000) each, hear date the
first day of July, nineteen hundred and
fourteen (1914), shall be payable an io
the principal amount thirty years after

Sec. 3 Such bonds to lie registered In
accordance with provisions of Ordinance
adopted June 23rd. 1913, Hnd approved
June 74th. 1918.
Section 4 —These bonds are Intended to
ho eeued under und by virtue of ttie au
thority contained tn the Amendment to
paragraph one of section seven of article
seven of tile Constitution or the stale
of Georgia, the Act of the General As
sembly providing for which was ap
proved August 16. 1909. as appears in
■he published laws of 1909 on pages 77
to 80 Inclusive, and which was proclaim
ed by the Governor of the stale of Geor
gia on the 20th day of October, 1910,
to have been adopted by the people of
the State, and winch amendment rends
as follows:

without the assent of two-thirds of the
qualified Voters thereof at an election
for that purpose, to he held us may lie

of which does not exceed seven per cen
tum of the assessed value of the taxable
property at the time of the adoption of

State of Georgia, Book No. 7, fol os 391
to 406 inclusive' and In the office of
Clerk of Court of Common Please and
General Sessions of Edgefield County,
State of South Carolina, in Book No. 88,
pages 157 to 171 Inclusive, to secure an
issue of One M llion Dollars ($1,000,000)
of Bonds for the same purpose, and con
taining such provisions, conditions and
limitations as may he agreed upon by

time when sales of said bonds shall he
made and the amount to he sold at any
time, subject to the maximum amount
herein prescribed, shall be fixed by The

in connection with any of such sales

er of the Finance Committee.

Joseph Ganahl Referee in Bankruptcy,
