encouraged before by offering attrac

hoped that the reduction in revenue
to the express companies on these
commodities will be more than offset
by an increase In the volume of busi
ness.
And now, the commission In Its ad
vance sheets of the annual report to
the governor and legislature. Is earn
estly calling attention to the necessity
of rrgklng a complete and radical re
vision of its freight classification and
standard tariff. Such a work would
be monumental and would be of Incal
culable benefit to the shippers of the
state.
A thorough revision, the commission
elates, will be a long and expensive
task Involuv'ng larger clerical force
and more funds, but as the revision is
essential to the Interests of the ship
ping public the commission Is hopeful
I hat these funds will be forthcoming
from the state.
Nothing else stands in the way of
the work, as the people as a whole, It
is stated, understand the importance
of keeping the personnel of the com
mission Intact until this revision work
Is completed. Indeed only one mem
ber of the commission has to stand
for re-election at the coming primary,
Hon. Paul ft, Trammell, and It seems
to be conceded that he ought not to
have and will not have any opposi
tion.
