FRIDAY. JULY 10.
MORNING WITH THE RECORDER
Session this morning was brief and
to the point. One man forfeited bond
for exceeding the speed limit, another
pleaded guilty thereof and would not
make a statement. The two cases
were disposed of in about fifty sec
onds.
Then aas called the Feature Case:
Mamie. Willy, and Eva, all colored, in
that old and complicated relation of
three which has caused so much of
world's trouble since Adam ana

Trial relations used to lead to a

But in the case of the above, the

Mamie is the ill-used heroine of
the piece; Willy, the fickle lover, and
Eva is the Adventuress, of dark and
dangerous guile.
Mamie and Willy, who have lived
happlly-ever-after during the last two

life’s river in a rickety boat. They
have foundered on many a rock in
the course that doesn’t run smooth.
Judge Irvin has rescued them from

are at least unpleasant and sometimes

Mamie's house where she was
washin'n,ironin’ and told her that
Willy was over at Eva’s house. He
went further into it than that.
Mamie immediately left everything
and issued forth from Sibley's alley.
As she passed Officer Williams on
Center street she told him to follow
her, for there would he in a moment
a great and pressing need of him.
The officer at first did not take her
seriously, but on second thought
changed his mind and followed the
direction she had taken. He arrived
upon a wild battle scene, just in time.
The evidence was all dead against
Mamie. She had gone to the other's
house with destruction in her heart
and had been the sole and unique
cause of the fight.
But this morning, when it came time
for her to make her statement, she so
strongly enlisted the sympathy of the
court that she got off and the others
were fined $lO each.
"Listen, Judge,” she said. ‘‘He tries
to keep my foots to de fire all do
time, but he don't want me to inter
sere with nothing he does. This girl
Eva's cause of all this trouble. She
been aimin’ at Willy fuddy longest.
And yestlddy, when I found out he
was down there with her, 1 jest picked
up and went down there to tight.
The truth of the thing is, she jes’
tries to RUN Center street and Sib
ley’s alley round there, and nobody
can’t have a man for this girl. Some
body's goin’ to kill her!”
ANNUAL CHICKEN SHOW AT
FAIR, OCTOBER 19 TO 23
Meeting of Augusta Poultry
Association Held Last Night
When Plans Were Made.
At a meeting of the Augusta Poul
try Association held last night it was
decided to hold the annual show this
year In connection with the Georgia
Carolina Fair. October 19th-23rd.
It is a custom of the Association to
rut on its exhibition with the fair.
Last fall the chicken show was one of
the big attractions at the fair, and by
many of the fair patrons it was re
garded as the biggest thing there. It
was certainly greater than the shows
of the past and in the same manner
the show this fall is expected to even
surpass last year's.
The premium list will soon be made
up and put into the hands of the prin
ter for publication. It is believed now
that every available foot of space in
the large building will be taken some
time before the date of opening.
