OF NEW HAVEN
Upon Action of Board Meeting
Today Rests Attitude of the
Dep’t of Justice.
Now York. Th* threatened suit
under the Gherman law, the report of
the inter slate commerce commission,
AH*' the bill passed by the Mhssjk hti«-
etts legislature providing for >f

chief questions to be taken up bile to
day at a meting here of the board of
directors of the New York, New Hav
en and Hartford railroad
Maks Unsalable.
Upon action of the board rests, in
A Improbability, the attitude of the de
partment of Justice with reference to
the film* of a dissolution suit, held
In abeyance for several weeks by an
agreement providing for the sale of
the Boston and Main stock control.
On June 25 the board adopted resolu
tions In which It wah declared, it would
be better to let. the Sherman law pros
ecution 'proceed rather than submit- :*>
terms of the Massachusetts law, which
it was declared, would make the Bos
ton and Maine 4ft ock unsalable on a
fair basis.
Filed Suit.
Attorney General Mclteynolds took
the around that objection to the Mas
sachusetts law was not sufficient bas
is for refusal of the New Haven to
carry out Its agreement for a partial
dissolution and intimated that he
would silo suit under the Hibernian
low if the directors persisted In the
stand they had taken. Tie gave th»
board until today it Is stated to file
with the department of Justice a re
port showing that all steps had been
taken to carry out the terms of the
agreement.
No statement as to plans of the com
pany was forthcoming today, prior to
the meeting of the board.
