WILL YOU HELP THE
CHILDREN’S HOME?
Among ’’the saddest words of tongue
or pen" are these: "Your bank ac
count stands overdrawn!" Calculat
ed to upset even the well established
business man. To an Institution with
no assets and dependent entirely up
on the generosity of the public they
are appalling!
With twenty-two little hungry
mouths to feed, little bodies to be
clothed, kept warm and comfortable,
fifteen to be made presentable at
schyol, supplied with books, etc., a
cow to feed, light and Incidental bills
to be met, help to be paid, etc., Is It
any wonder that the general manager
of the Children's Home was staggered
upon returning from a much needed
vacation, to receive this notlve: “Your
bunk account stands overdrawn."
But we are not without friends and
a committee has been organized to
be known as “the Children's Home
Auxiliary," said committee to consist
of twenty or more, members who will
agree to raise three dollars each, per
month.
The Idea being that each member
of the committee will see twelve
friends who will each give twenty-five
cents each month towards the cur
rent expenses of the home. This
committee has Just been started and
already we have fifteen members and
many others will he kind enough to
assist Just as soon as we can get
time to see them and explain.
Through the courtesy of Gardelle’s
It will not be necessary for the com
mittee to call personally upon each
subscriber each month as contribu
tions can be left at Gardelle’s at any
time, the young Indy at the desk will
kindly take chargo of and receipt for
same.
The committee, to date, consists of
the following: Mr*. David Nachman,
Mra. J. A. Hauser, Miss It. H. Biggur,
Miss Ellen Hickman, Mrs. K. A.
Roper, Mrs. Wm. Butt, Miss Stella
Hollingsworth, Mr*. J. D, Lester, Mrs.
A, J. Cnssednv, Mrs. A H. Fortson, Mrs.
C. Sancken, Airs. H. C. Maxwell, Mrs.
Jos. Fargo, Mrs. J. Willie Levy, Mrs.
H. M. M. Hmlth.
Any one volunteering to Join this
committse or lo subscribe to this fund
will be heartily welcomed by any
member of the committee Just call
