THE GEORGIA
PRODUCTS DAY
CELEBRATION
Wednesday, November the 18,
Selected for the Purpose of
Stressing Slogans: ‘‘Buy at
Home,” ‘‘Make Georgia Self-
Sustaining.”
Atlanta, Ga.—The European war,
which ban revolutionized tto many
thing* in America, ha« Impressed up
on the people of Georgia, more than
anything else has done, the wisdom
of the “Buy-W-Home’’ and “Make
Georgia Helf-HUatainlng” sentiments
embodied In the (Jcorgia Products
1 my celebrations of November 18, 1913.
The peculiar need now existing that
Georgians should make these senti
ments their dally thought and rule of
conduct should impel every loyal cit
izen to take part with great fervor In
Ihe second annual celebration, which
the Georgia Chamber of Commerce
has announced to be held on Wednes
day, November l i, 1914.
There was nev'r a time In the past
when the drain of money from Geor
gia foi products that could be raised
or manufactured at home was so
hurtful as niiw.
A Great Benefit.
One of line greatest benefits of
these annual gatherings of the peo
ple of each and every county of Geor
gia Is to make our own citizens better
Informed as to what they can buy at
home.
Every grower of agricultural prod
ills, every manufacturer of raw ma
tcrlala produced In Georgia, every
man who sells goods, every banker
who makes loans on commodities or to
those producing or handling them, and
every consumer in the state, should
lake an active part In these celebra
tions as the best means for drawing
the attention of the people to what
Gorgla produces, what It could and
should produce, and to the folly of
sending to other sections for goods
that can he bought at home.
“Buy at Home.”
The newspapers of Georgia have
conslatenly preached a “Ruy-at-
Hotnc" doctrine and are boosting the
Georgia Products Paiy celebrations as
visual demonstrations of the truth and
force of their arguments They are
doing a great work in building up in
Georgia a patriotic appreciation of
tbe value of co-operation.
if the people of every county have
some kind of a dinner, he it ever so
simple. It will serve the state Just as
the sacrament serves the church, not
In the eat ami drink as food, but as
a memorial and a pledge for the pub
lic welfare.
With Every Community.
The Georgia Chamber of Commerce
Is getting Into communication with
every community In the state to ar
range with citizens who have the wel
fare of their county and state at heart
to mnke the necessary preparations
for holding the dinners, (either In
day time or at night, as suits local
conditions!, or a barbecue, at which
the people from both farms and town
will assemble, take stock of their re
sources. and gain Information of the
things done and the things undone
getting better acquainted, that they
may work together In harmony for
I heir mutual advancement.
Entire State.
The people of the entire state are
requested to make suggestions to the

During next week retailers are asked
