ton crop of 1915 scheduled for a vote
In the house today and with the house
bill providing for a two-thirds reduc
tion in acreage pending in the senate,
the South Carolina legislature finds
itself with c variety of bills design
ed to relieve the cotton situation.
The lower house lias passed a bill
prohibiting the planting of cotton on
more than one-third of the land cul
tivated by a farmer and In any case
not more than six acres of cotton to
the plow. The bill is pending on third

$25,000,000 Bond Issue.
The submission to the electors at
the general election of the floating
of a $25,000,000 bond issue to retire
the surplus of the present crop of
cotton Is provided for by bills now
pendtng In both the house and serata.

marketing agency designed to aid the
farmers to find markets for crops they
produce next year In lieu of cotton.
The total elimination of the cotton

West Point and Annapolis to piny an
annua! Army-Navy footfall game for
five years and specifying Franklin
Field, Philadelphia, as the place for
this season's contest and November

night by Secretary 'larrlaon of the
war department and Meutrtiant Com
mander Needham Jones of the navy,

of this year's game a certainty.
As agreed on. the plan stipulates that
the two school# will choose the site for
the games alternately, the Navy having

not to he north of New York or south
of Washington. It also provides that
when It Is the Navy's turn to choose
