Chicago.—Bearinsh sentiment domi
nated wheat transactions todays al
though covering by shorts proved a suf
ficient volume to lift prices at the out
set. Prices opened 1-8 to 1-2 cents
higher, but soon fell to 6-8 c under last
night's level.
Favorable weather for curing and
chipping eased off the corn market. Im
provement if eastern demand, had a
steadying effect. After opening a shade
to l-Bal-4c lower, quotations made a
slight additional decline.
Oat sweakened with other grain. Low
cr prices for hogs carried down pro
visions.
