Mr. II c. Hahn, near Aiken. Alke
county medc a fine show, preaching
prosperity and showing what will form
an adequate substitute for grocery
bills.
Orangeburg Bamberg, Saluda and
Beaufort counting were arming the best
represented.
The Pride of the State.
What was shown collectively was
likewise presented Individually. That
the preaching of diversified fanning
hss borne good and abundant fruit
throughout South Carolina was strik
ingly demonstrated in the individual
exhibits of farm products, of which
there were on display some splendid
collections.
Mr B Wingard, of Lexington
County, look the first prize for the
best individual farm products display,
and nothing is more natural than that
a farmer so progressive as is Mr. Win
gard should have « daughter who should
distinguish herself as did Miss Jeanette
Wingard, who was awarded the first
prize for Ihe largest display of canned
fruits and vegetables, as well hs many
ether prizes for excellence In this Im
portant branch of home economies

PROPOSE REDUCING CLUB
LIMIT OF JEXAS LEAGUE
Nhw York.—At the annual meeting of
the franchise owners of the Texas Base
ball League to he held at Dallas, to
morrow a proposition to reduce the lea
gue from an eight to a six-club circuit
will b* considered. Several of the lea
gue magnates are said to favor such a
move but no forecast on the majority
vote is possible. The 1914 season was
unprofitable in several cities, and it is
the Idea of those advocating a reduc
tion In the circuit that the lapse of the
game at oae or two points t<lr a season
or more will ultimately improve the
professional baseball situation in Texas.
