ADVERTISING CAR HERE
Advertising car No. 2 of Cole Broth
ers’ World Toured Shows left town
this morning after a two-day stay in
the city while the twenty men com
prising the crew opened the city cam
paign advertising the coming of the
shows to Augusta oik Friday, October
23. A week from yesterday the third
car will roll in and take up the work
where the last ear left off. They will
be followed by an advertising brigade
the members of which will remain in
the city until the show trains arrive.
Front now until show day Augusta
will daily harbor at least three em
ployes of the circus, and 100 men will
have visited the city In advance be
fore the first train of the show makes
Its appearance In the local yards.
The entire vicinity for a radius of
forty miles has been thoroughly cov
ered wlfh pictures, each on telling ils
own story, and the car that arrives
here next week will attend to the
work of hilling the stations on the
railroads out of the city. The brigade
confines Itself to city work so that
when the aggregation spreads its can
vas in the city the expenses incurred
by the advance force will leave Au
gusta merchants with a snug sum of
the good American dollars that the
ruralltes and the city residents as well
have saved up for show day.

nor of Georgia
Whereas, {he General Assembly, at its
session in 1908, proposed an amendmen.
to the Constitution of this state, as fol
lows: •
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Gen
eral Assembly of Georgia, and It is here
by enacted by authority of the same,
that paragraph 1, section 1, article < oi
the Constitution of this State, be ana
the same is hereby amended by adding
at the end of said paragraph the fol
lowing: To make provision for the
payment of pensions of any ex-Confoci
erate boldler, now resident of this suite,
who enlisted in the military service of
this state, or who enlisted in the mili
tary service of the Confederate States,
during the civil war between the states
of the United States, and who perform
ed actual military service in the armies
of the Confederate states, or the or
ganized militia of this state and was
honorably discharged therefrom, and to
widows, now resident of this state, of
ex-Confederate soldiers who enlisted in
the military service of the Confederate
states, and who performed actual mili
tary service in the armies of the Con
federate states, or in The organized mili
tia of this state, who died in said mili
tary service, of was honorably dh
chared therefrom; iWovided that no per
son a lull 1 be entitled to the provisions
of this Constitutional amendment, the
total value of whose property of every
