THE VALUE OF GOOD HOTELS AND PLENTY OF

For wiiiic months Augusta has boon agitating
itwlf over the question of good hotels and more <»i
thi'iii. Augusta has no better advertisement, no bis

hurt the eit.' more than for these good hotels to be al

The time has seemingly ronie when the natural
growth of Augusta, both romnioreialland as a win
ter resort, needs more hotel aoronunodations. It’s up
to Augusta to provide them, and we have no doubt
but that Augusta will do so. Hear what Ilenrv \\ at

within a day or two.
After receiving the report of the
grand jury t 7 o’clock last evening
Judge Sp< ed rode horseback to the
Bon Air. when- he is stopping, and at
that time he felt well. However, about
11 o'clock he began to feel badly and
this morning had a bad cold with a
slk-ht fever. He has passed through
a strenuous winter, having had tight
w< *-ks of continuous worn in savan
nah and also a buig session in Macon.
He tried to get Judge Newman to come
to Augusta to hold the entire session
here, but the latter was not able to
mak* l*is plans to come at that time.
It is probable that Judge Newman will
ctnie here some* time during the next
month and finish the costs on the
docket
A great amount of work yet re
mains to be done in the federal court
as the criminal docket has not been
touched. The grand jury returned
quite a number of indictments and sev
eral days will probably be required to
finish that work.
The* case of Mrs. Julia Barton vs.

this morning when the* judge tele

There are also a number of otTmr
