bale of cotton this week,paying! 1-2 cents
per pound for it.

holding up for democracy, came in and
subscribed for another copy to he sent to
his nephew, Mr. J. F. Piitmau, of Pitt
man, Ala. He didn’t stop at that, but
paid us for the subscription.

It is said there is but one Democrat in
Buncombe district. Well, Buncombe dis
trict isn’t Haralson county by any means.
We heard a man say, who was elect,eil
once by an overwhelming majority, that
lie only got one vote in Buncombe. Bmi
combe remains solid, but her influence
seems to be confined to,a very small sec¬
tion.
Rev. T. M. Moore will preach at Phila¬
delphia elmrth, six miles north of Buch¬
anan, the second Sunday in October, at
