5Ve gave Carrollton a pop call Tuesday.
There are no better towns in this section
if Georgia than Carrollton, and Carroll
county is one of the best counties in the
state. Her people are clever and sociable,
the proof of this fact is they are nearly all
of one mind,as was shown in the recent
election.
Mr. J. A. Cantrell says he thought it
less harm to talk to his best girl Sunday
than it was to talk politics, and for that
reason he justified himself for so doing
and put in full time. Hurrah for John.

They are telling it on our friend, Mr.
J. J. Goldin, that after Col. McBride
made his speech at Union Hill the other
night that Jack went home and got up in
his sleep away iu the night cheering the
Colonel, His good wife says it is a fact.
Prof. F, G. Goldin took charge of the
business department of the public schools
at Tallapoosa this week. The Prof, has
secured State license and is a thorough
and practical teacher of penmanship ,, and
bookkeeping. But few young men in
this country are making the strides he is
making to, secure an education, and none
have accomplished more under the same
circumstances,
The colored people organised a
sionary Baptist church at this place Sat¬
urday. Rev. A, A very, of Carroll conn ty
