RACE WAR IN CAROLINA.
Whites at Lumberton Tele
grapihg for Winchesters.
* ••
Lumberton, N. C., Oct. 24.
Yesterday morning a squad of
the negroes who were dispensed
at Ash Pole, Robeson county,
crept up t. the town and shot
three whites stationed ther* as
guards. They were Albert Floyd,
Robert Inman and Wm. Bullard.
Bullard is seriously wounded,
the others slightly. A hundred
whites with bloodhounds are
now in pursuit and it is said
four of the negroes have been
caught. There is great excite
ment at all points in .the state in
telegraphic communication with
Lumberton. The whites are tele
graphing the principal towns in
the state for Winchester rifles to
be sent there immediately.
THAT JOYFUL FEHLING

time medicines and the cheap
substitutes sometimes offered
but never accepted by the wel
informed. Buy the genuine.
