The Rolling Mill question is set
tied -so far as the receivership is con
cerned . The property was sold today
and was bought in by Mr Harper
Hamilton. The amount paid was only
$2.790 —(Two thousand seven hun
dred and ninety dollars.) Think ui
that. The mill was worth $35 000 to
$40,000. Mr Hamilton will probably
start it up soon.

The big auction sale of horses ad
vertised in the Hustler of Rome to
take place <.n yesterday, at the stable
of Rhudy A Green came off, and was
a grand success to the gentlemen
who purchased, while Messrs. Simon
& Co, the owners, seemed to be sat
isfied.
Most of the horses were young
sound, well broken and in fine con
dilion. Mr. Dink Ross, the tine
stock farmer, opened the auction and
cried off the animals for the first part
of the sale.
Later on Sheriff Jake Moore, who
was not only born for a sheriff, and
was reared a singer, but later *3ii
took up auctioneering as naturally
as a duck does to water, he took the
stand and closed out the balance of
the consignment.
The cheapest horse sold went to
Mayor Sam King for $45.50 and be
fore ths day closed Mr. King had
sold him for S7O The highest price
paid w 8 S3O and any S9O animal
should have brought $1 50,
Messrs Simon & Co., the firm who
sold the horses are from Chicago.
They left for Aniston this forenoon
but will return to Rome early next
week and meet a consignment due
here on Tuesday. These horses will
be sold at auction on Wednesday and
more bargains will go to thia sec
tion.
