Fir two Preachers to Baptize the
Throng of Converts.
Hopkinsville, Ky., December 11.
—The revival services that have
been going on for several weeks
past in the colored Baptist Church,
es of this city are still in progress
except at the Virginia Street
church.
This closed with 250 conversions
and additions, of which number
175 were baptized by immersion in
Little River this morning. A crowd
of not less tnan 1,000 thronged the
river bank to witness the cere
mony, which occupied two preach
ers two hours.
Fifty converts to the Gainesville
Church were also baptized to-day.
Up to date there have bean 400
conversions and additions to the
churches, and the work still goes
on.

A warm attachment has sprung
up between Mrs. Cleveland and
Miss Olga Nethersole during the
latter’s present engagement in
Washington. Miss Nethersole’s
performances of Camille, which
was witnessed by Mrs. Cleveland
and several members of the Cabi
net and their wives, was followed
by an invitation to call at the
White House, and during the visit,
which lasted more than an hour.
Mrs. Cleveland expressed herself
in the highest terms concerning
Miss Nethersole’s ab.lity, and ask
ed the actress for an autograph
picture, which she has received.

Dominick Glynn, a boatswain in
the navy, was recently tried on
the Pacific coast for drunkenness,
disobedience to orders and absence
from his station without leave, and
the Court finding him guilty, he
v»us sentenced todismissal. Glynn
entered tl.e naval s< rvice as an
apprentice boy, and w rked up to
the highest enlisted grade, distin
guishing himself in the Samoan
■disaster. The President has deci
