SAVANNAH, Sept. 27.— Cotton. —Tho sales re ported yesterday amount to 49 bales, as follows : 10 bales at 8|; 5 at 8J; 18 at 9J; Bat 9}, and 8 at 9} cents. CHATTANOOGA, Sept. 2b.~Remark*.—Tkes river is now lowor than at any previous tirno during the season. Boats running below, do not venture abovo the Suck, and make their port at Kelly's Ferry, ten miles below. Passengers aro conveyed between the points at any hour, and freight is ship ped off as it arrives, on lighters, under the chargo of the officors of tbo steamers. We notice that a large amount of goods are arriving daily. The light-draft steamer Mary McKinney is running be tween this point and Knoxville. The Provision market is inactive. We are in the season yet between tho old and tho now crops. In a few weeks, the fall and winter trade will com mence. We find Bacon scarce, and commanding from 12 to 13 conts. Lard. —Little, if any, in market, and selling at 14 cents. Corn. —Old, scarco and declining in prico; now, from 40 to 45 and 50c. Wo are of the opinion that it will command 50 cents, readily, in two weeks. Meal. —Very scarce and high. Beef. —From 4 to 5 cents a pound.
