The following satisfactory experiment,
made by J udge L. C. Warren, of Jeffer

“ Lotjisvit.t.e, Ga., Sept. 7, 1869.
“Dr. Edward Barry, Augusta:
“Dear Sir: It gives me pleasure to
styte, that the Ingredients I bought of you
last Spring, with your directions for pre
paring a Phosphate, which I called ‘ Bar
ry’s Preparation,’ has proven one thing to
me, that it is not necessary to go beyond
our own borders to And a Phosphate supe
rior to those of Northern production.
“ I experimented with a number of the
most popular kinds of Commercial Ma
nures, and it is uot only my opinion, but
that of every one who saw the Cotton, that
Barry’s Preparation was far ahead of the
others, each having a sign board to mark
the rows.
“The stalks of Cotton were taller and
greener, with larger and more bolls on
them, and I feel no hesitation in saying
there was a difference of 25 per cent, in fa
vor of the yield of yonr manure.over any
other Phosphate I have used.
“ Very truly, yours,
“ L. C. WARREN.”
“ Louisville, September 10th, 1869.
“ Dr. Barry :
“Dear Sir: Dr. Hunter suggested to
me, on Tuesday last, by way of testing
the yield of the different manures, to pick
an equal number of rows and weigh the
Cotton. Since then I have had Mr. Wm.
Ponder to take six rows of three different
kinds, 70 yards loug, and this evening he
makes the following report:
6 Rows, 70 yards long, Name, Cotton
weighed 17 lbs. •
6" Rows, 70 yards long, Name, Cotton
weighed 26 lbs.
6 Rows, 70 yards long, Barry’s Prepara
tion, Cotton weighed 45 lbs.
“ These 6 rows were on each side of
your six rows—all within a space of one
eighth of a mile, so there is no difference in
the soil—the plowing and cultivation the
same. Very truly, yours,
“ L. C. WARREN.”

To fas. Ruddle <£ Cos., Louisville, Ky.:
Gbntlembx : This is to certify that I have been for
years a sufferer, and tried all the tonics I have heard
of or seen advertised, with Utile or no refief from any
of them. 1 beard Hurley’s Bitters highly spoken of,
and tried a bottle, with little faith in it hetore I com
menced, and, to my surprise and joy, before I finished
one bottle I felt a great deal better, and firmly believe
that om or two occasions it was the means of taviog
and prolonging my life. I conscientiously recommeud
t! em to all sufferers as the best Bitters known, and
advise them always to ask for Dr. T. A. Hatley’s, and
have uo other. Yon can use this a.) you think proper,
if it will benefit others.
Yours, truly, etc.,
JOHN W. DIXON.

To Dr. Thos. A. Hurley:
Sir : I deem it an act of justice to you to state that
fn the month of February laßt 1 had' a severe attack
of inflammatory rheumatism, which completely pros
tr.ited me. At the same time my lungs were much
afflicted. I was so reduced that it was with the great
est difficulty that I could walk. 1 procured some of
your Compound Extract of Sarsaparilla, and com
menced taking it. I found that I began to improve—
mv cough became less severe—the soreness of my
lungs and breast gradually subsided—ray rheumatic
pains less acule. I attribute this mainly t<j. your Bar
sapirilla. I have now been taking it so» over two
months; have taken in all five bottles. Its effects
have been most satifactory to me, and I advise others
similarly afflicted to give you a trial.

HURLEY’S v
Popular Worm Candy.
As this is really a specific for Worms, and the best
and most palatable form to give to children, it is not
surprising that it is fast taking the place of ail other
preparations for worms—it being perfectly tasteless,
and any child will take it.
Messrs. James Ruddle <t Cos. :
Gentlemen : It gives me great pleasure to say,
after using all the other worm remedies known to me,
Witt hut partial success to my Children, I was advised
to try Dr. T. A. Hurley’s, and since using it my chil
dren have become well and healthy. The children
would eat it all the time, it is so pleasant, if we would
let them. I believe it is one of the best and safest
remedies known, and as such, recommend it to one
and all. T J AS. W. TEA VIS.

Elixer of Pyrophosphate of Iron
and Oalisaya.
This elegant combination possesses all the tonio
properties of Peruvian Bark and Iron, without the
disagreeable taste and bad efforts of either, separate
ly or in other preparations, of these valuable medi-"
dues. It should be taken in all cases when a gentle
tonic impression is required after convalescence from
fevers or debilitating diseases, or in those distress
ing irregularities peculiar to females. No female
should be without it, if liable to such diseases, loi
nothing can well take its place.
