Albany Patriot 'copy. ’Oct. 18 tds* c) VEST OPOFONAX FROM .MEXICO'.— I* The most, elegant and essential personal re- i quisite fora lady, Extract of Sweet Opopo- . nai.” Manufactured by E T. Smith & Cos., | New York, and sold at the Drug store of Oct U if Dr. E. J. ELDItIDGE. Not Fair Os all clashes in the State of Georgia who should be lenient towards their debtors, it is the merchants. Thousands -of them, after the collapse, hurried to New York and settled their claims by paying from twenty-five to fifty cents in the dollar, aid thus made themselves comparatively easy and had no trouble in extending their credit and of begin ning business anew. Now for this class to turn upon their debtors and force them to pay them dollar for dollar, would be a hard case. It would be cru el. Why should they he so exacting ’when their creditors have been so gener ous towards them ? Will they refuse to 'exercise that mercy “To their debtors which they have so promptly received -at the hands of their creditors? Come, gentlemen, show your kindness and hu manity towards a large class who owe you and who are really very poor and fb'd it extremely difficult to get along. Remember they have families to sup port, and that the war left them without a copper cent. Yon have paid your debts by a compromise. If you are not willing to allow your debtors to do the same thing, then, at least, give them time to pay you. Undertake to force collections now, and yon will not only ruin them, but bring distress upon the whole community. Give them, we be seech you, time to breathe. They are honest and mean well, arid hy exercising patience with them, you will not only secure your claims, but enable them to acquire strength, confidence and suc cess. Indeed, we are now of the opinion that there should be a mutual under standing between creditor and debtor and that there should be rn agreement between them to postpone the collection ofall debts for the present. This would render all stay laws and repudiation un necessary and act like a charm upon the people. CSF” There is no need now of asking who has the prettiest and largest stock of Dry Goods, for if you only go to S. Waxki.uaum & Riio. the question is de cided. They always can show you the most beautiful and most handsome assortment of Ladies Dress Goods, Shawls, and Cloaks &c. &c. Go there it you wish to buy very cheap. Oct. 3d'. It. 1 The New York Citizen gives the graph ic picture of John Morrissey ; “Dressed in irreproachable black, -and with a snlimirc diamond in his spotless shirt front half as big as a pullet’s egg, here conies the sinewy gladiator whose aspira tions for Congre»s are now throwing all the circles of exclusive respectability, into fits •of conniptions. He is brawny and muscu lar, with heavy masses of cripsy curling black hair, a black beared perfumed and glistening, c-yes of clear haxel, mottled with black spots like the egg of an English thrush, a complexion of excellent fresh ness, the strong, white teeth of'an Irish wolf hound, and a nose once shapely and straight, but now beating seme contorted evidence of early battles. As ho walks, we observe that he possesses the grace that comes from perfect health, and when he speaks, the words rumble in the throat of bis hoarse-voiced Spartactis like the echo of distant thunders in the Catskill Moun tains, £-§' “ Gent’s ready made clothing can be had in the most fashionable styles and magnificent nukes at the lowest figures at S. WaxelbAum & Buo. in S. S, Boone’s new corner store, step in and take a look at their goods so you can judge Cor yourself. Oct. 3d. it. SWEET OPOPOXAX ! The only elegant.
