Is a combination of vegetable medicines, differ- |
ing entirely in their properties from the various
preparations of 6 All A PAiil LLA which have i
at different timer- been oiTered to the public, and ,
from the high st.itv of perfection to which the ap- j
paratus used in the proce.-s has been brought fiy
the proprietors during the many years of experi
ence devoted to the subject, a medicine has been
produced which is calculated to be, and has been
of more benefit to the world, than any other dis- j
covery of the present century. Diseases have
been cured, such as arc not furnished in the re
cords of time past, and what it has already done
for the thousands who have used it, it is capable
ol’doing for the millions still suffering andsliug- 1

For further particulars and conclusive evidence
of its supciior value and efficacy, see pamphlets,

The following letter from tlie Rev. HENRY
WOOD, of Concord, N. 11., editor of the Congres
sional Journal, a religious newspaper of a high
character, speaks columns in favor of the good
qualities of \\ istar’a Balsam :
Concord, N. 11., March 2, 13-10.
Mr. S. W. Fowle—Dear Sir; Two years ago
the past winter, a sudden and violent attack upon
my lungs by exposure to cold, confined me to my
room and bed for several weeks; and when I re
covered I was to much oppressed by difficulty in
breathing, that 1 w as incapable of fast walking and
violent exercise, and often was unable to sleep or
rest upon a bed by night. The stiff ring was fre
quently extreme, and judging from the ineflicacy
of the remedies used, J supposed the disease incura
ble. Being persuaded to try a bottle of W(star's
Balsam of Wild Cherry, without the least confi
dence in its efficacy or that of any other prescrip
tion, no one can fully understand my surprise and
joy, when I found the difficulty almost entirely re
moved before one bottle was used up. Having a
mortal aversion to m (brine, and seldom using it
in any form, nothing but sympathy with my follow
sufferers induces me to make this public st itement,
and recommend the article to others similarly af
flicted. \\ ith respect, yours truly.

MOBILE, May 12. Cotton. —The week just
closed has been rather a quiet one in ihe cotton
market. On Wednesday there was some inquiry
on the part ofbuyers, hut holders were not gener
ally inclined tooperateal the current rates, and
hula limited business was done. On Thursday
the arrival of the Sarah Sands was announced,
hut a« her accounts were not given, there was a
general di-position among both parties, to await
their receipt. On F riday these account? mine to
hand, but do not seem to have had any effect upon
the market, other than to strengthen both factors
and buyers in their previous views. Since then
the market has been without any material change,
with but very little doing. The accounts by tiie j
steamer oftlv- PJlh ult. are daily expected am! ap
pearances now indicate that not much will he
done until they transpire, as both parties are look
ing fur them with much anxiety. Our quotations
are scarcely in the least altered from those of this

Our last report left the Cotton market in a very
dull state, and allhough w e could not well quoie
any positive decline in prices, yet we took occasion
to remark that the advantage was rather in favor
if buyers. Since then the market has continued
in a remarkably quiet state, there being no foreign

NOTICE TO COTTON FLA N I Jilts.
BU 1 LL say to the cotton planters of Georgia and
. Soniit ( arolina, 1 have taken the shop form
erly occupied hy S. R. Grenshaw, fur the purpose ■
of manufacturing COTTON (HNS, and would
also inform them that I have engaged Mr. Cren- i
#havv, who will superintend the manufacturing of ;
them. My "ins shall he made of tbe best in a- |
terials.aml I can say with propriety they are the
cheapest gins sold in flie Southern States, taking
the. workmanship in consideration. 1 will war
rant my gins to make cotton equal to any made on
any other g n> in the Southern States, giving the
true staple of the cotton and making it perfectly
free of knap and clear of moats. 3ly r gins will be
delivered at the, purchaser’s residence free of
charge and warranted to give ample satisfaction.
All orders addressed to the subscriber will meet
with prompt attention; repairing done in good style*
and at short notice. All old gins of lU inch saws
I will repair and put them on improved principles,
and also warrant ihem to make as good cotton as i
any of the improved gins, and at a much less cost !
than a new gin. J. I). HAMMACK.
Crawfordvtile, Ga., 3fay 4,
1 will say to the planters who may favor 3lr.
Ilummat k with their patronage I will exert all the
ability 1 have in superintending the shop; and
every gin sent from the shop shall he in complete
order, and warranted to be the cheapest gins ever
offered to the public : and from my long experi
ence in live business, 1 know the gins cannot be
surpassed, although agents from oilier shops have
resorted to the contemptible practice of slandering
me and saying rny gins have prostrated me, though
it is not true.. In full confirmation of whall say,
I off r a few certificates from gentlemen who
have used my gins and could furnish many more
of this kind, it require .
S. R. CHENSII.t w.
Dear SB: I have used the Gin bought of you
for two years and I very cheerfully recommend it
to the Cotton planters of Oglethorpe and other
counties ol’Georgia. it turns off sufficiently fast
to makegood Colton —it being 50 saws—will throw
out about 809 lb. of lint a day. The quality of the
Cotton basin Augusta ranged half cent higher at
each of my sales than other sales of those days, and
il has been pronounced by those considered com
petent to judge—as in no way inferior to I lie Cava
Gin. Yours very respectfully,
F. Merrixvetiier.
1 April 2 Uh, 1847.
Oglethorpe County, April 22, 1817.
I have used for the last three years a machine
that was made hy 8. R. Crenshaw, of Cravvford
ville. I consider itone of the best Gins I have
S ever seen. Two small mules will gin, with a
I great deal of case, three hales f>e relay, and I «lo not
| think there is a gin in Georgia that can excel it in
i making fine cotton. In fact, 31 r. Crenshaw ha*
; sold a sireat many gins in this county and Elbert,
■ and 1 think that every man who has purchased is
perfectly satisfied. All of his gins which have
been sold in tins comity, and they are not a few,
run light, pick fist, and what is heller than all,
when the cotton is carried to market it sells for the
very highest price. C. 8. 31>;aiu wkthkii.
Crawfordvii-le, May 1, 1317.
Mr. J. D. Jfammuck —l certify that I bought of
•S. 11. Crenshaw, lust year, a forty-five saw anti*
friction Colton Cm, wlui h performs well ami
1 m ikes as good cotton as the Carver Gins, in nay
opinion. F. G RnoaiE.
j This is to certify that I pun based one of Mr. S.
I R. Crenshaw's improved anti-friction Cotton Gins
I last year, and find it to he superior to any Gin 1
j have ever used. 1 think it superior to the Carver
I Gifts. It makes superior cotton, giving tire true
S staple of the article, and gins ih 0 lbs. of clean cot
j tun pe; day, and runs very light.
