~ Sani ? s Sarsaparilla.
When Cataline attempted to overturn the liber
ties of Rome,he commenced by corrupting the mo- '
ralsofthc youth, and although he did not succeed I
in his nefarious attempt, his name was branded with i
infamy. Various plans of treatment have been pro
posed for .mental alienation with limited success,
but for diseases of the physical frame, a remedy
has been discovered, which in a large majority of
cases, will relieve the patient of his sufferings, and
if timely administered cure the disease. Sand's
Sarsaparilla will perfectly cure diseases of the mu
cous membranes, Scrofula or King’s Evil, Fever
Sores, pustules and pimples on the face. Rheuma
tism, obstinate cutaneous erruptions and other dis.
eases caused by an impure state of the blood.
For further particulars and conclusive evidence
of its superior value and efficacy, see pamphlets, J
which may be obtained of agents, gratis.

Evec spice the settlement of America, Wild
Cherry has been known to possess very important
medicinal virtues. Every body knew this fact, but
nobody knew how to extract its essential proper
ties. Every mother gives Wild Cherry tea to her
children for worms, for colds, and for almost every 1
disease; and adults throughout our country are in
the habit of making a compound or syrup of wild
cherry bark, and other ingredients, to be used in
spring as an antidote to complaints incident to that !
changeful season. It is found by experiment, that
the wild cherry possesses even far more important
qualities than was ascribed to it. For the first stages
of Consumption, Asthma, no matter how long stand
ing. Coughs, Liver Complaints, etc., it is proved to j
be the best rfcedicine known toman. Dr. W r istar’s
Balsam of W ild Cherry is-a chemical extract, com
bined with a similar extract from Tar, which en
hances Its value. Its success in curing pulmonary
disease, in almost every stage, after our best phy
sicians could do no more, has astonished the facul- I

ty, and led them to confess that Wistar’s Balsam of j
W ild Cherry possesses a principle heretofore un- j
known among medical men.

MOBILE, AUGUST 4.— Cotton. —At the close
of our last report the cotton market was very' ac
tive, and holders were stiff at the quotations then
given. 7he operations of the day next succeeding
that report were larger than ever before took
place in any day at that late period of the season,
having reached fully 4000 bales. Oa Wednesday'
the sales were comparatively light, but on Thurs
day an active demand again sprung up, but owing
to the pretensions of holders the sales were res
tricted to 1500 bales at full prices. Since then the
market has been quiet—holders evincing no anxie
ty' to sell, and in view of the unfavorable accounts
of the growing crop, and the incessant rains with
which we have been visited, calculated to add to
the injury already apparent, in many' instances,
withdrawing their stocks from the market. In ad
dition, both parties are waiting for the next foreign
advices, now due, and we may expect a quiet mar
ket until those accounts shall have been received.
7he sales ol the week amount to 2950 bales, in
« daily transactions as Wednesday 500
bales, Tuesday 15C0, Friday 300, Saturday- 400,
Monday 50, and 7’uesday 20(3 bales. The market
doses firm at our quotations, which are a shade
higher than last week.

The article is excellent for burnishing and clean

COTTON GIN 3 ! COTTON GINS!!
THE SUBSCRIBER would respectfully in
form his friends and the public that he con
tinues to Manufacture In Augusta, his celebra
ted COTTON GINS, which although not so
highly puffed in news paper advertisements as some
others, do their work equally as good, if not better.
He is willing to put his Gins in comparison with
I any others made in the United States, and will war
i rant all Gins sent from his shop to work and wear
! well.
As regards certificates, he could fill columns
I with them, but would prefer that those in want of
a good Gin should call on him personally, or by let- i
ter, in which case satisfactory and numerous re- ;
ferences can be given.
He has been engaged in the business some years, 1
and has never heard a complaint of work turned out !
of his shop, from which circumstance he has come to j
the conclusion that his Gins have given general
satisfaction, since their manufacture has been un
der his sole superintendence.
My terms for all New Gins are cash, before they
can leave the shop, or an approved endorsed note.
The price is Tiro Dollars per saw.
My shop is on Green street, two dor a above the
