JEW DAVID’S, OR HEBREW
PLASTER
The Great Remedy for Rheumatism, Gout, Pain in
the Side, Hip, Back, Limbs and Joints, Scrofula,
King's Evil, White Swellings, Hard Tumors,
Stiff Joints, anal all Fixed Pains whatever.
Where thie Plaster is Applied, Pain Can
not Exist.
A gentleman in the south of Europe, and Pales
tine, in 1830. heard so much said in the latter place
in favor of JEW DAVID’S PLASTER, and of the
(as he considered) miraculous cures it had per
formed, that he was induced to try it on his own
person, for a Lung and Liver Affection, the re
moval of which had been the chief object of his
journey, but which had resisted the genial and de
licious clime.
He accordingly applied a plaster on the right
side of his chest where the pain was seated, an
other between the shoulders, and one over th p re
gion of the liver. In the mean time he drank free
ly of an herb tea of laxative qualities. He soon
found his health improving, and in a few weeks his
cough left him ; the .sallowness of his skin disap
peared, bis pain was removed, and his health be
came permanently reinstated.
The following is from Mr. Worstell, editor of the
Massillon Gazette, Ohio.
“ Gentlemen —During last wdnter and spring, I
was so troubled with a pain in my breast as to ren
der me unfit for the duties of my office : and hear
ing your Jew David's, or Hebrew Plaster highly
recommended for similar cases. I was induced to :
give it a trial. I had worn a plaster upon my !
breast but a short time, when all pain left me, and ;
1 was enabled agaiq to engage in the labors of the
office. I would also state, that my sister, residing
in Steubenville in this State, has received much
benefit from its use.
Yours, truly, JNO P. WORSTELL.”
Massillon, November 12, 1843.
It has been very beneficial in cases of Weak
ness, such as Pain and Weakness in the stomach,
Weak Limbs, Lameness, Affection of the Spine,
Female Weakness, &.c No female, subject to
pain or weakness in the back or sides, should be
without it. Married ladies in delicate situations,
find great relief from constantly wearing this plas
ter.
The application of the Plaster between the
shoulders has been found a certain remedy for
(’olds, Coughs, Phthisic and Lung Affections, in
their primary stages. It destroys inflammation by
perspiration.
Beware of Counterfeits and Base Imita
tions.

to a certificate recommending Patent Medicines.
Nostrums or Catholic ims, 1 nevertheless think it
my duty, not only to my patrons, but; to the com

Cough Medicines, to state, that in three particular
cases of incipient CONSUMPTION, viz: .Miss
Belt, step-daughter of Mr. John Carr of this city,
a Miss Barger, sister-in-law of Mr. V. Wander,
butcher, and Mr. R. K. Cox, one of our City Coun
cil, that DR. ROGERS' COMPOUND SYRUP
of LIVER WORT and TAR operated more LIKE
a SPECIFIC, than any remedy of a similar char
acter in its operation that I have ever used in my
practice. One of the cases above, viz: Miss Bell,
appeared to be laboring under the last stage of
Scrofulous Consumption, as pronounced by several
PHYSICIANS w’ho were in attendance previous
to ray being called to treat the case. She is at
his time in the enjoyment of as apparent good
health, and from appearance, as finely to die with
any other disease, as any other young lady of this
city. As it respects the health of the other two
cases, all the threatening premonitory symptoms
seem to have subsided from the use of a few bot
tles of the Syrup above.
Very respectfully, &c.

* TO THE AFFLICTED. ,
Have you a cough, cold, or the consumption?
If you have, try Dr. Hastings, Compound .
Syrup of Naphtha. This medicine is the discove
ry of the celebrated Dr. Hastings, Senior Physi
cian to the Blenheim Free Dispensary of London. ■
Dr Hastings had his early attention drawn to the
consideration of the causes of, and the cure for j
consumption, and after numerous experiments, and
long years of patient and laborious study, discov- 1
1 ered that Wood Naphtha compounded with other 1
vegetable substances, was a certain and speedy
cure for consumption, and all diseases of the lungs.
The Naphtha being of a very volatile nature, im
mediately rises to the lungs, the seat of the dis .
ease, and attacking it in its stronghold, destroys all
tubercles that have formed upon the lungs, and
prevents the formation of others. For coughs and
1 colds it is an invaluable remedy, curing the most
severe in an incredible short space ot time. A
single bottle will prove the virtue of this remedy.
In tact, a single dose will effect an almost instanta
neous relief.
Hastings’ Compound Syrup of Naphtha
is now being used in nearly all our hospitals, and
is also coming into rapid use among all our best
physicians, lor coughs, colds, and all diseases ol
the lungs. It has been recommended in the worst
state ot consumption by the celebrated physician,
Dr. Mott, of New York ; and Dr. Arnold, of Sa
vannah. Geo., writing to the agent at New York,
under date of Jan. 30th, 1848, says ; —“ I received
the half-dozen Hastings’ Naphtha Syrup, ordered
from you. and am convinced that Naphtha is the
principal ingredient. Enclosed is twenty-five dol
lars, ior w hich you will send me tw o dozen and-a
ha!f bottles more. 1 have two patients in the Ma
rine Hospital, whom 1 think will he benefitted by
it.”
Dr. Lenoir of Lenoir’s Landing, Tenn., w rites
as follows;—‘ I procured some of Dr. Hastings'
Naphtha Syrup from Philadelphia, and enclosed
send you ten dollars for one dozen more bottles. 1
consider it a very valuable medicine lor all dis
j eases of the lungs.”
Savannah, Feb. 9th, 1848.
Mr. M. A. F. Harrison
Dear Sir:—At the suggestion of Dr. Arnold, the
Physician ol the Hospital ol which I am one ol
the directors, 1 would like to supply myself with
Hastings’ Wood Naphtha. The Doctor ordered,
some days since, some for the use of the Hospital.
Should you deem proper to send the article on
liberal terms, 1 can forward the sale of it in our

ADDRESS TO THU MARRIED !
Dr. Larzetti’s Juno Cordial, or Procrea
tive Elixir.
riHHS is the only actual remedy ever discovcr
l X ed for Impotency, Genital Debility, Noctur
nal Emission, and all diseases occasioned by cer
tain secret habits; and many of the nostrums re
cently* recommended for the same complaints are
u-orthless imitations which its unrivalled excel
lence, lame and popularity have brought into the
market. The Medical Faculty of Europe and the
United States are unanimous in their recommen
dations of the Juno Cordial, and have not given
their sanction in a single instance that lias been
authenticated, to any compound for the same pur
poses. The nature of the maladies relieved by the
j Juno Cordial are generally such as to leave the
I publication of certificates of curesout of the ques
{ tion, or the proprietor could produce a host of the
most conclusive testimony to shew that the great
reputation that it enjoys was not accidently ob
tained, but is firmly based upon its positive and ap
i parently miraculous virtues. In ali are
to be found the happy parents of healthy offspring,
who w-ould not have been so but for this extra
ordinary preparation. And it is equally potent in
I the many diseases for which it is recommended.
| Objection has been naturally made to the price of
\ the Juno Coidial, because the trash that has been
thrown into the market in opposition to it is sold
cheaper; but tlie fact is, the Cordial cannot be
afforded for Jess, and ought to be much dearer, as
many of the ingredients which compose it are a
mong the costliest tilings in nature ; whereas, the
others are made upVif cheap drugs, worth but lit
lie in money, and less in merit. We assure the
reader that the utmost reliance may be placed on
the Juno Cordial in the cure of the maladies men
tiowed above, and also, of those which follow, viz ;
Loss of Muscular Energy, Physical Lassitude and
1 General Prostration. Irritability, and all Nervous
Affections, Indigestion,Sluggishness of the Liver,
Gleet, or Lucorrhcea or Whites, and Flour Albus,
and every disease in any way connected with the
disorder of the Procreative Functions—in all of
which it w ill afford almost immediate relief, and it
used as directed, is almost certain to produce a
j positive and permanent cure. Persons about to
marry, if conscious of any weakness or disability
of a certain nature, should take the Cordial, as it
will infallibly restore health and vigor in a brief
period, and where want of offspring is a cause of
regret, if r. course be had to it, the most beneficial
results may be anticipated with confidence. Iti»
of priceless value to those without offspring. It
has taken the precedence in Italy, and willln all
other countries where it may become known.
It also possesses the unrivalled qualities of cur-
I ing incipient Consumption , and 1 have administer
ed it with great success to patients who have
sought our delightlul climates for the restoration of
their health, and the result is that a medicine has
been added to the catalogue for the cure of incip
ient consumption.
I o spread wide the biessings of this medicine, I
have appointed Messrs. Judson &, Co., of the city
of-New York, in the United States of America,
m\ sole Agents lor its sale ; and none can be gen
uine unless it comes through them, and their sig
nature is on the wrapper.
