DYSPEPTICS READ THIS!
DR. ALLliX’b VEGETABLE Cl)>i-
POUND, lor the cute of Dyspepsia, Liver
Complaint, Nervous Debility, Billions Affections,
4ic.,itc, This medicine is offered to the public
j under the assurance that there is no article in ex-
I uteuce having stronger claims to their considera
' tion. Being compounded by a regular graduate of
Jetfer-on College, Philadelphia, and a practising
Physician of twenty tears standing in Phila
delphia. his long experience has confirmed him in
the opinion. that a compounded medicine was re
quired to prevent and REMEDY the DEBILITA
TION produced by residing in low miasmatic cli
' mates, and to counteract the prostrating influ-
I ences of the many nervous disorders with which
! the human family are adiicted.
Dr. Allen is a well known Physician, and has
used the above, medicine in his practice for
tewlve years with the most astonishing effect,
having tested its qualities in above
Vive thousand cases.
No medicine ever received more fla'tering re
; commendation from Physicians of eminent stand
j ina: than has been bestowed on this. Read the
' following ;
| The late Dr. GEORGE McCLELAN, of Phila
; delphia, pronounced it one of the BEST TONIC
pieparations he had ever used, and recommended
it strongly in cases of Dyspepsia, Nervous Debili
ty, «Scc.
The following is an extract of a letter from
DR ROBERI AGNEW,
an eminent Physician of Lancaster county, Pa.
“Dr. Allen.—Dear Sir ; —lt is with great plea
sure that 1 inform you of the success attending
your Medicine, while employed in my practice.
Ijlirmly believe that in eight cases out of ten the
Dyspeptic may, by the use of your Medicine, rid
himself of this thorn in the pathway of life. Not
onl in Dyspeptic cases, but in all casess of con
stipation and diseases depending on a debi itated
state ol the nervous system, togesher with a tor
pid state of the Bowels, will your Elixir be of in
estimable value.”

EPPING’S COMPOUND FLUID EX
TRACT OF SARSAPARILLA AND
QUEEN’S DELIGHT.
TBIO THE PUBLIC. —This preparation has
1 acquired a very extended and es'abhshcd ce
lebrity in most of the Southern States of the Union
—both in the hands of-Physicians and private use
—which i s efficacy alone has sustained lor several
years, as a remedy for Scrofula or Ktugs’s Evil.
Ulcetated Sore Throat, long standing Rheumatic
Affection, Diseases of the Skin, old Sores, White
Swellings, Diseases of -he Bones, and all causes of
an ulcerous character. It is also particularly use
ful in chronic and nervous complaints occurring in
debilitated and cachetic constitutions. Over Sy
phillis and the host of painful, disagreeable and
hitherto incurable affections resulting therefrom,
such as Ulcers of the Throat, Larynx, Nodes, iVc.,
and all those evils occasioned b\ an improper and
injudicious use oj "mercury ,” it displays complete
control. It has been found to be a most useful pu
rifier of the blood in all such diseases.
in all complicated cases ot Scroiula and Syphi
lis, and in cases where the Syphilitic virus of the
parent causes a development of Syphilis or Scro
fula in the child, this is the only remedy upon
which the hope of recovery can be reasonably
founded. It relieves the disease, and at the same
time imparts vigor to th whole system —undt r the
use of this medicine, the patient is enabled to take
nourishing food, which in other practice is with
held. In many cases where the horrible ravages
ol disease have taken so deep root that patients
have been given up by be most skilful physician-,
the disease has been arrested and the patient re
stored to good health, &c., and the most reasona
ble expectations fully satisfied.
'The cures performed in this city alone, are suffi
cient so establish its reputation on a permanent
basis, and too solid to be effected either by the
malignant or envi us. It is worthy ol note that
the greater part of the patients cured, had previ
ou ly to using this preparation, received the best
medical treatment and given up by their Physi
cians as being beyond the reach ot medical skill.
It is, li ■never, advisable that it should be given, if
practicable, under the -us erintcndence of a Phy
sician, for him to prescribe such other remedies in
conjunction with this, as the necessity of the case
may require. This preparation has put into the hand
of Physicians a remedy, by which they can master
a variety of diseases, which have hitherto© baffled
the greatest sk 11 and study. Jt is a safe and harm
less medicine, and removes all those evils which
an unsuccessful use of mercury so often occasions.
Price $1 per Bottle, or $5 for six Bottles. Pre
pared and for sale by J. P. M. EPPING, Chemist
and Druggist, 2?7 King-street, opposite Society
street, Charleston, 6. C. For sale in Augusta, by

“THE BLOOD IS THE LIFE.”
Take the language of Scripture, and the language of
reason From the blood is built up, particle by particle,
r,he entire human body. Its bones and muscles and del
icate tissues are all the results of the gradual depusite of
minute particles, which are taken up by the various or
gans throughout tiie system. As the wood of the tree
; grows, year by year, from the deposits of ligneous sub
i stances from the sup which circulates through its capil
lary vesse s, so does the organized living human body
1 ijrow , and supply its natural waste from the materials
I supplied by the blood alone; for the blood contains ail
j materials necessary to the reparation and growth of the
I organs.
As it is the only means by which the great function of
nutrition is accomplished, so also is this important vital
fluid the source of all the humors of the body. The
saliva, tears, bile, urine, perspiration and all other se
cretions, are taken from the blood. How indispensable
then is it that this FOUNTAIN OF LIFE be in a pure
and healthy slate.
Bristol’s Sarsaparil'a is the greatest purifier of the Wood
known to the Materia Medica.
Invalids, Remember—-That Bristol’s is the only pure
extract of Sarsaparilla prepared in this country, one bot
tle of which is worth ten of the kind offered by many
unprincipled quacks throughout the United stales.
The case of James Wyckoff has no equal, it stands
■out alone! Bristol’s Sarsaparilla has achieved, in this
cure, a reputation and a fame that can never be w on by
any other medicine.
A synopsis of the case, and a quotation extracted from
the most influential and respectable press, is all that can
L>e given in this sheet. The history of the young man
has been printed, and is in the hand- of agents.
It, in tlie days of the Apostles, among the many who
sought miraculous relief at their hands, there had been
brought to them the remnant of a human being, deaf
umb and partially blind, with both legs and one arm
eaten oil'by ulceration, his ears, his nose, and pa at*
too, comp etely destroyed by the ravages of the terrible
disease, whose work of destruction was surelv and
swiftly going on—would it not have been deemed a
striking illustration of miraculous p- wer had the rruof
malady been at once stayed—its horrible ulcerations at
once healed—and the mutilated body of the sufferer re
ieved from racking pain, his appetite restored—lussieep
tg 'in rendered sound and refreshing—his flesh, spirits,
animation once more returned—in short, a complete
restoration to general health effected.
Such would indeed have been deemed a miracle yet
inch a w onderful work has been wrought by Bristol’*
Sarsaparilla!
James Wyckoff, now ->2 years of age, and the son of
Peter Wyckoff, a farmer of Clarence, Erie Co., New
Vork, is the living monument of this most wonderful
cure. When five years old, being attacked by measles
he had a preparation of mercury administered to him’
and for eleven years of wasting pain, and frightful mu’
tilalion, were its pernicious effects at work. Awful be
yond description w ere the sufferings of that poor bor
during the interval, as detailed in an interesting history
of his extraordinary cure, published in JtH6, for his ben
efit. and which can be had from Bristol’s agents;
Six years have now elapsed since this modern miracle
was performed, and the person vet lives to testify
though mutely, yet most eloquently—to the curative pro
perties of Bristol’s Sarsaparilla.
CASE OF IN’FLAMATORY RHEUMATISM.
Hartford, Conn., Sept. 29, 1842.
This may certify that I have been a subject of Inflam
matory Rheumatism for the last eighteen years, and
nlimi confined to my bed for four or six weeks by’ each
attack. 1 have tried every possible remedy that the
most ce ebraled of the New York medicinal faculty
■could prescribe, besides any quantity of quack medi
cines, but did not obtain permanent relief.
Soon after resuming my residence in Hartford I had
the most severe attack I ever had. I was confined t«
my room two months, and when I left it was scarce r
able to walk, and not without the most severe pain My
lameness lasted from last October to the June following
Having business in New York last February I wum
there introduced to a gent email by the name of Thomas
Hogan, who highly recommended Bristol’s .Sarsaparilla
He told me that he had been confined to his bed
months, w ith Rheumatism and Scrofula, and his phy
sicians had given him up, as past recovery. He used
fifteen bottles of Bristol’s Sarsaparilla, and it was ta
this medicine alone that he attributed his present exis
tence.
I concluded to defer the trial until 1 returned to Hart
ford, and again consulted my physician, whose prescrip
tion i followed until May, without relief. I then bought
Bristol’s Sarsaparilla of you, and continued taking it ac
cording to directions. I then visited New York again
and was there introduced to Mr. Bristol, who advised
me by ah means to persevere. I called on twenty dis
ferent individuals of the first respectability, who bad
been cured of ad the ills that flesh is heir to, who n'l at
tribute their restoration to health entirely to this invalu
able medicine. With all this testimony, I continued tilt
I had taken sixteen bottles, which has restored me to
perfect health. Ishal be happy at any lime to give any
one all the information that I am possessed of, in regard
to this invaluable medicine, and confident v recommend
it to ail who are afflicted with the diseases for which it
ie recommended.
Respectfully yours, S. L. MOORH.
REMEMBER
That Bristol’s Sarsaparilla is the only Original Me
dicine, and that all lh« various Sarsaparillas that have
sprung up in the last few years are mere imitations
Bristol’s was cstai.lished in 1832. In 1840 the proprie
tors, at an immense sacrifice, enlarged the bottles to a
quart, thus offering to the afflicted a large quantity and
a pure article for the money than was evw before offer
ed.
These who buy Sarasparilla should he sure they are
buying the genuine article. Ask for Bristol's Original
