! FS-OF. A. C. BARRY S TRICOP HE
ROUS,
OR MEDICATED COMPOUND.
INFALLIBLE lor renewing, invigorating and
heautifyiug the HAIR, removing the scurf,
j dandruff, and all affections of the scalp, and curing
I eruptions on the skin, diseases of the glands, mus-
I clc? and integuments, and relieving stings, cuts,
bruises, sprains, &c. With this preparation ‘‘there
is no such word as fail.” The first journals in
America, medical men of the highest eminence,
prominent citizens of ail proiessions, and ladies
who have used it for years in their dressing rooms
and nurseries, admit with one accord, that for im
pasting vigor, gloss, luxuriance and curl to the
hair, eradicating scurf and dandruff, healing
wounds, curing contusions, sprains, stings, &e.,
and relieving diseases of the skin, the glands and
the muscles,it has no eauai among the multitude
of compounds advertised in the public prints, or
used in private practice. In cheapness as wed as
efficacy, Barry’s Tricopherous is unrivalled. The
immense cash sales of the article have enabled
the inventor to supply it at retail, at 25 cents per
bottle, which is from 50 to 100 per cent less than
the price of any other preparation for the hair now
in use. The scientific treatise on the hair and the
skin, (embracing valuable directions for the cul
ture and preservation of Nature’s choicest orna
ment,) in which each bottle is enclosed, is atone
worth the money.
The affinity between tho membranes which con
stitute the skin, and the hair which draws its sus
en.tnce from this triple envelope is very close.—
All diseases of the hair originate in the skin of the '
head. If the pores of the sea p are clogged, or if j
the blood and other fluids do not circulate freely
through the smau , essels which feed the root with
moisture, aud impart to the fibres, the result is
scurf, dandruff', shedding of the hair, graveness,
dryness and harshness ol the ligaments, and entire
baldness, as the case may be. Stimulate the skin
to healthful action with the Tricopherous, and the
to; pid vessels, recovering their activity, will anni
hilate the disease. In ail affections of the skin,
and of the substrata of muscles and integuments,
the process and the effect are the same. It is
upon the skin, the muscular fibre, and the glands,
that the Tricopherous has its specific action, and
in all affections and injury of these organs, it is a 1
sovereign remedy.
Sold, in large bottles, price 25 cents, at the prin
cipal office, 137 Bioadway, New York, and sold by
the principal Merchants and Druggists throughout

THE FRENCH MIXTURE. ’
FOR the cure of Chronic diseases of the Kid
nies and Bladder, Venereal (Gonorrhcea)
Flour Albus, and other analogous affections, it
stands paramount to anything to be had. With
perfect safety it can be taken or used by any one,
as it does not nauseate or prove in any wise dele
terious. Being modified and improved from the
original French preparation as it is, has for years
stood the test in every shade and variety of cases
for which it is to be used. Aud so far from falling
into disuse, the sales on the contrary, have mate
rially increased. If cases were given iu detail,
its success would vie with the Vermifuge, Ano
dyne Cough Drops, or any other medicine pre
pared and offered to the public by the proprietor.
Beware of Imposition and the use of Substitutes.
The sac simile of the signature of Di. W. G.
Little will he found upon the outside wrapper of
each of his medic.nes.
Sold wholesale and retail by the proprietor, at
the Manufacturing Depot, No. 264 Market street,
Philadelphia, and Macon and Milledgeville, Ga.;

forth alone, and by its own works proclaims its
power—that mute eloquence so irresistibly affect
ing iu the appeals of the suffering for relief, has
been answered. Thousands of cases of disease
have been cured by this invaluable mediciue.su :h
as are not furnished in the records of time. These
things are not done in secret places, or in some
unknown town, but are performed in our princi
pal cities and public places. They are brought
before the world to substantiate, beyond doubt, the I
healing virtues of this pieparation; aud the facts ]
unfolded, although gigantic, are as plain as the i
light of day.
The Sarsaparilla is combined with the most es- j
fectual aids, the most salutary productions, the
most potent simples of the vegetable kingdom ;
and its unprecedented srccess in the restoration
to health of those who had long pined under the
most distressing chronic maladies, has given it an
exalted character—furnishing, as it does, evidence
ol its own intrinsic value, and recommending it to
the afflicted iu terms the afflicted only can know.
It has long been a most important desideratum in I
the practice of medicine, to obtain a remedy sim 1
ilar to this—one that would act on the liver, stom
ach, and bowels with all the precision and potency i
of mineral preparations, yet without any of their
deleterious effects upon the vital powers of the
system Allhough po ses3ed of powerful healing
properties, it is entirely harmless, and will not in
jure the roost delicate constitution When in per
fect health, no effect is produced by its use, ex
cept an increase of appetite; but when disease is
seated in the frame, and carrying fast its victim
along the path of life. its mysterious influ
ence is felt and seen ; it enkindles new life and
vigor, and brings health and strength to the suffer
ing and disea.-ed.
SCROFULOUS AFFECTION OF THE EYES.
Winchester, Ky., Oct. 29, 1849.
A. B. & D. Sands — Gentlemen: 1 would not
have presumed to write to you, if it was not my
duty to let the public know the almost miracious
effect your Sarsaparilla has had upon me. My
limbs were covered with ulcerous sores, so that I
could not walk during the whole spring ai.d sum
mer. In this situation I commenced the use of
your Sarsaparilla, and after taking two bottles m as
entirely cured. J must al o tell you of another
wonderiul cure. My brother was afflicted with
this scrofula in his herd, so h d his physician told
him the loss of his sight was inevitable, aud perm
anent blindness seemed to be his fat i. Three bot
tles entirely rest, red his sight, and we cannot but
recommend all similarly afflicted to use Sands’
Sarsaparilla. Yours truly.

unable to sleep. I tried all of the best medicines
I could hear of without receiving any benefit uu
til through the advice of a friend 1 procured some
ol your Sarsaparilla, and after using four bottles
in the course of fifteen days I found myself en
tirely well. I have no hes tation in saying your
Sarsaparilla is the best medicine l ever took, and
can confidently recommend it to my friends and
the public. Your obedient servant,
J. M. .JESURUN.
Here is another, nearer home :
New York, Jan. Bth, 1850.
Messrs. Sands — Gentlemen: I have great plea
sure in acknowledging to you the great benefit 1
have received from the use of your Sarsaparilla.
A subject of pulmonary disease, 1 made a voyage
to Europe, but while there continued to be afflict
ed. A few weeks after my return, 1 was seized
with a violent hemorrhage of the lungs, and from
the debility and great prostration of strength that
followed, with the pretracted difficulty ol respira
tion, 1 am entirely relieved by the use of your
Sarsaparilla, which 1 consider a most important
and truly valuable discovery in the healing art. —
) feel that I have not for fourteen years enjoyed
so good health as at present.
Yery gratefully yours,
