Gentlemen: The Engine still works well, and is

w.th similar works, pronounce it a fine Engine,
and expressed some sutprise when I told them it
was manufacnred in Augusta. We are cutting

GEORGIA SARSAPARILLA,
PREPARED BY
J. DENNIS, M. D., AUGUSTA, GA.
FOR DISEASES of the Liver and to purify
the Blood.
Dr. D. has made his preparation as pure as pos
sible. Its bitter teste corresponding with the
t-.ste ol thejrrat' l , proves its purity. Its beneficial
effects in diseases el the Liver prove it to be the
most useful preparation of Sarsaparilla that is
made.
The prevalence of diseases in the Southern cli
mate, arising from an inactive state of the Liver,
and the effect of this Sarsaparilla in stimulating
the Liver to increased rction, causing by its alte
rative and mildly purgative effect the removal of
morbific agents from the Blood, have induced the
Proprietor to use the put e Sarsaparilla and noth
ing else in this prep ra'on.
For other diseases Physicians using this prepa
ration in their p. „ctice c. n combine, or prescribe
with it such ar mies ?s they may consider the most
appropriate in cases under their treatme .t.
As those who u u e the G 'orgia Sarsaoarilia and
find benefit from its use—-recommending it to
oihers, and the fa.-t increasing demand, provesthat
the labors of ihe Proprietor to make a good arti le
have beer du y apprecia ed by S uthern people,
there is,no need oi publishing certificates. North
ern preparations should not be used :'a tbe South,
unl“ss they are made freer of sweetened water
and other things than they have been.

By all means auvise them to take along a supply
of this Plaster, it may save them hundreds of dol
lars, if not their lives, as the exposures which they
have to endure in the mines is sure to bring on dis
ease, which might be easily cured by .the use of
this celebrated Plaster, lor the want of which
many have been obliged to quit their labors and
fall into the hands of the physicians, who, by their
extravagantly high charges, soon take away the
hard earnings of the bravest tailoring man. By
sleeping in tents or on the ground, Rheumatism.
Spinal Disease, Stiff Joints, Lame Back or Side,
and all like diseases, are sure to trouble them, and
many t mes entirely lay them up, when the sim
ple application of this Plaster would give them im
mediate relief, and enable them to-procead with
their labors without delay.
It has been very beneficial in cases of weak
ness, such as Pain and Weakness in the Stomach,
Weak Limbs, Affections of the Spine, Female
Weakness, &c. No female, subject to pain and
weakness in the back or side, should be without it.
Married ladies, in delicate situations, find great
relief from constantly wealing this Plaster.
The applications of the Plaster between the
shoulders has been found a certain remedy for
Colds, Coughs, Phthisic, and Lung Affections, in
their primary stages. It destroys inflammation
by perspiration.
A VOICE FROM GEORGIA.
Read the following testimony from a Physician.
Gentlemen : Your Hebrew Piaster has cured
me of pains of which 1 have suffered for twelve
years |>ast. Daring this period I labored under an
affliction of my Loins and Side, and tried many
remedies that my own mtdical experience sug
gested, but without obtaining relief. At leneth I
used y r our Plaster. I will recommend the Jew
David or Hebrew Plaster to a 1 who are suffering
from contraction or the muscles, or permanent
pains in the side or back.
The people of Georgia have but to become ac
quainted with its virtues wnen they will resort to
its use. Yours, truly,

Messrs. Scovil &. Mkad: 1 have been trou

twelve years. On the Ist of July, 1849. 1 was so
bad that I could uot turn myself in bed, and the
pain so severe that 1 had not slept a wink for six
days. At this time my attending physician pie
srribed the Hebrew Plaster, and it acted like a
charm; the ptin left me, and I slept more than
half ol tbe night, and in three days 1 wus able to
ride out. I consider the Hebiew Piaster the best
remedy for all sorts of pains now in use.

For TH3 BEMOVAL AND PERMANENT CURS OF
AbL DISEASES ARISING FROM AN
IMPURE STATE OF THE BLOOD,
OR HABIT OF THE SYSTEM.
AMONG the many and important discoveries
of this eneration, is one whose fame will
be written, as with a sunbeam, in the history of
the past. SANDS’ SARSAPARILLA stands
forth alone, and by its own works proclaims its
power—that mute eloquence so irresistibly effe ,t
--ing in the* appeals of the suffering for releif, has
been answered. Thousands of cases of disease
have been cured by this 'iivaluable medicine, such
as are not furnished in the records of time. These
things are not done in secret places, or in some
unknown town but ave performed in our princi
pal cities and public places. .They are brought
before the world to substantiate, beyond doubt, the
healing virtue s of Ibis preparation ; and the facts
unf"lded, althi ugh gigantic, are as plain as the
light of day.
The Saisaparilla is combined with the most ef
fectual aids, the most saiutary productions, the
most potent simples of the vegetable kingdom ;
and its unprecedented success in the restoration
to health of those who had long pined under the
most distressing chronic maladies, has givea it an
exalted character—furnishing, as it does,evidence
of its own intrinsic value, and recom > ending it to
the afflicted in terms the afflicted only can know.
It has long been a most important desideratim in
the practice of medicine, to ootain a remedy sim
ilar to this —one that would act on the liver, stom
ach, and bowels with all the precision and pot-net
of mineral preparations, yet without any of their
deleterious effects upon the vital powers of the
system Although po sessed of p werfnl healing
properties,it is entirely harmless, and will not in
jure the most delicate constitution. Wh-»n in par
fect health, no effect’s produced by its use, ex
cept an increase of appetite; but when disease to
seated in the frame, and carrying fast its victi n
along the path of life, tuan its mysterious influ
ence is felt ana seen; it enkindles new life and
vigor, and brings health and strength to the suffer
ing and discard.
SCROFULOUS AFFECTION OF THE EYES.
Winchester, Ky , Oct 29, iß4y.
A. B. <fc D. Sands Gentlemen: I would not
have presumed to write to you, if it was not my
duty to let the public know the almost miraclous
effect your Sarsaparilla has had upon me. My
limbs were covered with ulcerous sores, so that I
could not walk during the whole spring ai d sum
mer. In this situation I commenced the use of
your Sarsaparilla, and alter taking two bottles w as
entirely cured I must al o tell you of another
wonderiul cure. Mv brother was afflicted with
this scrofula in his he- d. so b d his physician told
him the loss ot his sight was inevitable, and perm
anent blindness seemed to be his tat i. Three bot
tles entirely rest, red his sight and we cannot but
recommend all similarly afflicted to use bands’
Sarsaparilla. Yours truly.
