DR. CHRISTIE’S
GALVANIC RINGS
AND
M A GN E TIC FLUID.
TUIIS remarkable invention, which has received the
almost universal approbation oi the medical pro
fession of Great Britain, comprises an entirely new ap
-1 plication ol Galvanism, as a remedial agent, by means of
which the ordinary Galvanic Ri' teries, Electric and Mag
j uetic Machines, &c., are entirely dispensed with, and the
mysterious powers of Galvanism applied without any
ot the objections which are inseparable from the gene
ral mode now in use. The stron? doses, and at irregu
lar intervals, in which Galvanism is applied by the Ma
chines. hits lie- n pronounced, af.er a fair and impartial
trial, to be decidedly injukious, and it was to remedy
this radical defect, that this new application was pro
! jected, which after unceasing toil and perseverance, hag
been brought to its present slate of perlectiou. The
Galvanic Rings answer all me purposes of the most
expensive Machines, and in many other respects are
more safe and certain iu accomplishing the desired
I effect.
The Galvanic Rings, used in connection with the
1 Magnetic Fluid, a e confidently recommended in all
D SOROEKS WHICH ARISE FROM AN ENFEEBLED OR UN
| HEATHY STATE OF THE NERVOUS OR VITAL SYSTEM, Uad
these complaints are among the most painful and nni
i versa! to which we are subject. They arise, withoutex
cepliun, from one simple cuuse--a derangement of the
j Nervous system—audit was in these cases that other
“ remedies’’ having so often failed, a new asient was
greatly needed, which it is confidently believed, has
j been found iu the proper and judicious application of
1 Galvanism.
j The Galvanic Rings have been used with entiresuc
! cess in all cases of Rheum atism, acute or chronic, :ip
| plyingtuthe head,face (*> limbs- Gout, Tic-Dolorkux,
I Toothache, Bronchitis, Vertigo, Nervous or Sick
Headache, Indigestion, Paralyses. Palsy. Epilepsy,
Fits, Cramp, Palpitation of the Heart, Appoplexy,
Stiffness f Joints. Spinal Complaints, Ivumbago,
Neuralgia. Nervous Tremors, Dizziness of the
Head. Pains in the Chest and Side. General Debili-
I tv, Deficiency of Nervous and Physical Energy,
and all Nervous Disorders. In cases of confirmed
! Dyspepsia, which is simply a nervous derangement of
the digestive organs, they have l> *en found equally suc
| cessfid. Their extraordinary effects upon the system
must be wituessed-to be believed, and as a certain pre
i ventive for the preeeding complaints they are equal
ly recommended. The Rings are of different prices,
being in.ide of all sizes, and of various ornamental pat
terns, and can be worn by the most delicate female without
the slightest inconvenience. In fact the sensation is
I rather agreeable than otherwise.
The Galvanic Belts, Bracelets, Bauds,
barters, Xecklaces, &c.
I n some cases of a very severe character and of long
j standing, the power as applied by the Galvanic Rings
is not suflkuent t<> art-eslth« pmgres' of disease and ulti
mately to restore health. The improved modification in
tlie Galvan c Belts, Bracelets, Ztc., entirely reme
dies this objection ; any degree of power that is required
can readily be obtained, and no complaint which the
mysterious agent of Galvanism can effect m ill fail to lie
! permanently relieved. Tin se articles are adapted to the
i waii-t, anus, wrists, limbs, ancles or any part of iiic body
with perfect convenience. The Galvanic Necklaces
are used with greater benefit in cases of Bronchitis or
affections of the throat generally ; also in cases of Ner
vous Deafness; and with almost uniform success as a
preventive for Apoplexy, Epileptic Fits, aud similar
; complaints.
Christie’s Magnetic Fluid.
Is issued in connection with the Galvanic Rings, and
all their modifications. This composition has been pro
nounce d by the French Chemists to be one oft he most
i extraordinary discoveries of modern'seience. It is be- |
lieved tft possess a remarkable power of renderihg the
Nerves seiisitive to Galvaiiic actioii, by these means
causing a circulation of the influence at the seat of dis- j
ease, and thus giving rapid ami permanent relief. No :
; oilier composition in chemistry is known to produce the
i same effector to impart a similar properly to the nervous
system by means of an outward local application. The i
j Maguetic Fluid contains nothingcapable of the slight
| est injury, ite application is agreeable, and it is harmless j
in itsaction as it is beneficial in its result. Full explana
tions and directions accompany it. The combined in
ventions are. in every way perfectly’ harmless; they are j
1 at prices w ithin reach of all, and tl;c discoverer only rc
i quests a fair trial, as a lest of their surprising efficacy
and permanent benefit.
Christie’s Galvanic Strengthening Plas
ters.
1 These articles form another valuable application of
the mysterious influence of Galvanism. They are an |
important adjunct to the genuine Galvaiiic Rmcsand
their modifications, acting upon the same principle, but
! hit insr this advantage of more local applicaffon. They ;
: arc confidently recommended as a valuable addition in
the speedy cure of Rheumatism, acute or chronic ; in j
aii nervous complaints, and as a positive remedy in cases ,
of Pain and Weakness in the Chest or Back, Pain in the !
Side, in Asthma ic Affections, and in Weakness or Op
pression of the Pulmonary Organs. In Spinal Com
plaints; their etfects are of the most decided character,
and they have often been used w ith complete success.
They are also of the greatest advantage in Pains and
| Wanknes* of the Breast, and are highly recommended
for many of those complaints to which lemalcs are
especially liable. As an effectual meansfor ■'treiigthen
ing the system when debilitated with disease or other
causes ; as a certain aid in Constitutional Weakness, as a
Preventive for Colds and in all affections of the Chest
generally the Galvanic Strengthening Plaster will be
found of greatand permanentadvantage. Iu a few words,_
i it embraces all the virtues of tile best tonic preparation
with the important addition of the Galvanic influence,
which is neither impaired or exhausted, whilcthe action
| continues. These articles will be found entirely free
j from those objections which area constant sourceof com
plaint w ith the ordinary Plastersin common use.

DR. TAYLOR’S BALSAM OF LIVERWORT.
373 Bow ery, N, Y.
UST those be who have Pulmonary Consumption,
| A.”Jt. or any affection of the Lungs. Liver or Chest,
after reading the following letter, just received from a
! ni st respectable inhabitant of Westchester County
; New York.
i Tarrytow’n, Aug. 9, 1^44.
I Dear Doctor—lt is difficult to find words to express the
i gratitude which I feel towards you for the interest you
have taken to relieve me in my distress. In the year
1842 I contracted a heavy cold, which finally settled on
my lungs; in a few months after I commenced coughing
and raising offensive matter, which smelt very bad.
Having heard that Sherman’s Lozenges were good for a
cough I tried a few boxes of them, but they had not the
, least ell ‘ctolime. I then culled in the best physician in the
place, who a tended me a few’months, but without su '-
ces.-; I then saw’an advertisement in one of the city
papers of Wistar’s Balsam of Wild Cherry, of which I
pur< based three bottles, at the corner of Fulton ami Nas
sau Streets, but I could not perceive ti e b usi beneficial
effect from it, on the contrary 1 think it was a great in
jury to me. Shortly after using it I commenced raising
j Wotod in large quantities; 1 was taken dow n sick and
i canliiied to the house for three months, during which
time I lost my appetite and fdl away very fast; 1 was
| then induced to consult Dr. CurlLs of New York, (one of
i the best physicians in the city,) but he could do me no
good. 1 again become w orse, and was confined to the.
hou*e all last winter and spring, and I gave up ail hope of
ever getting any bettor, 1 again raised blood and my
cough was very severe, together with a pain iu my breast
and under the. shoulder blade. My friends now gave up
, all hope of my recovering, and thought every day was
I t!mlast. About this lime I heard of your BALSAM OF
jul VEKAA OUT being good for consumption, but 1 was
| like many others, and was fearful that it might be a regu
lar humbug; I however finally consented to try it, as 1
thought it could make mw*no worse. Mv brother thin
. purchased a bottle oi" it at 375 Bowery, N. Y. and I com
menced taking it, and by the time 1 had used one bottle
lull I could sleep all night, and in the morning I hafl an
i appetite for my breakfast. 1 still keep on taking it and
find great benefit from it—the pain in ir,y breast is entire
] ly gone, and I raise no more blood. Within the last two
• months I have gamed in w eight six pounds and much in
strung h. 1 would therefore advise all who have any
allot ionof the Lungs or Liver to try the Genuine Dr.
Taylor’s Balsam of Liverwort, for 1 truly believe it to
i bctiie best remedy in existence for diseases iff the Lungs
| or Liver. Should any one doubt the above statement re
| fati veto your valuable medicine, let him call on me, and
I will convince them of its virtue.
Yours respectfully, C. DE REVERE.

BAILEY’S HIGHLY CONCEN-
TfiATED COMPOUND FLUID
EXTRACT OF SARSAPARILLA.
THIS preparation of Sarsaparrilla, is in most cases,
found to be preferable to the Syrups, ou account
of not creating acidity of the Stomach, which the sac
charine matter contained iu tho Syrup, is apt to do,
where its use has been long continued. The Fluid Ex
tract effectually obviates this difficulty; and may be used
for any length of time, with increased benefit.
A supply of Bailev’s Sarsaparilla, just received and

cheapest and best Colton fucking Press iu the

J his Press has now been in use four years—sev
eral hundreds ol them are iu successful operation.
In one that has been in use about two years,
there has been packed, ovcfive thousand Bales of
\ Cotton I and it works better (if possible) now. than
when first put up. Not one dollar has been ex
I pended ou il in repairs—nor e\er will be, if well
I used.
All those persons who have tried them, have de
cided to keep them their life time, and then hand
( 1 them down to their children to the. third and fourth
generations. Not an individual that has seen them
in use hut what pronounces them "just the thing.”
I challenge the world to disprove these stale

, Machine ever made? And yet Igo still further;"
i when required, I will put up the Press on the plan
tation, and if it dues nut answer the purpose, will
make no charge.
And again—being well aware that the planters
have but little confidence in new things, from the
I tact that nine out of ten are ‘ Yankee tricks,** iu
! tended to deceive, I have been to the trouble ami
expense to lit up an establishment in Macon, with
• several Presses, for re-packing Round Bales into
j Square, and to show to the planters that the Press is
I just the thing they want. These Presses are now,
and will be kept in daily use, and open to inspec
i tion. Now, therefore, to induce the planter to
make an examination, I give below a certificate,
; signed by a few of the many \yho have very kindly

To prevent bad work, and all sort of meddling

All those wishing to give them a trial, will nlease
I give their flames to my Agents who call upon them,

IN offering this valuable medjcine to the people
of Georgia, for the relief and cure of many dis
eases incident to a southern climate, I do nut claim
S fur it infalibility; neither do I say it will cure all
diseases. Bptin Chronic Liver Affections and Dys
pepsia, I can confidently ad\ ise and recommend its
1 use, from my personal observation and use of the
i article in ray own practice. This article is favora
' bly received wherever il has been used. lam al

! Jolm W anvil of 3fr. McKaffee of Cobb,
I Mr. Asbury Hull of Athens, 3lr. William D. ’Ter
rell of Putnam, Rev. John E. Dawson of Lagrange;
to which a great number of names might be added,
who bear their testimony t 8 its value. Dr. Henry
Branham has used this medicine in bis own case,
and has prescribed it to many others, gives it as bis
opinion, that it is one of the safest and most valua
ble medicines that can be used in imperfect diges
tion, liver complaints, constipation and irregular
state of the bowels. It is useful in bilious com
plaints, to persons recovering from bilious fevers,
and in sick or nervous bead-ache. To pregnant
women, who are subject to cosliveness, this medi
cine is well suited. In regulating the slate of the
stomach and bowels, and promoting digestion, it is
particularly useful.
I could append a long list of certificates, but for
bear, prefering to rely oil the virtues of the medi
cine lo sustain itself. The medicine is a gentle
and certain cathartic, tonic and sudorific.
