I after reading ihe following letter, just received fn-m a
i mi st respectable inhabitant of Westchester Cuuniy
i New York.
Tarrytown, Aug. 9, fe44.
Dear Doctor—lt is difficult to find w ords to ex]>ress the
1 gratilijde which 1 feel towards yop fur j,lm interest you
i)uv«ukcu to relieve me in my distress. In the year
: 1842 I contracted a heavy cold, which finally settled on
• my lungs; in a few months after I commenced coughing
j and raising offensive matter, which smell very bad.
j Having heard that Sherman’s Lozenges were good fur a
cough 1 tried a few boxes of them, but they had not the
least effect <>n me. I then culled in the best physician in the
place, whoa tended me a few mouths, but without suu
cess ; I then saw an advertisement in one of the ciiy
papers of Wisrtar’s Balsam of Wild Cherry, of which 1
purchased three bottles, at the corner of Fulton and Nas
sau streets, but I could not perceive I e least beneficial
effect from it, on the contrary 1 think it was a great in
-1 jury to me. Shortly after using it 1 commenced raising
blood in large, quantities; • jyas taken dow n sick and
cuufmert to the Iruy -e Gr three jqoiulia, during which
time I lost my appetiie and fi ll away very fast; |
then induced to consult Ur. Curtis of ffeiy York- ('
the best physicians in the city,) Eyt enuhl dij jpe n#
good. I again become vvors#j and was confined to the
: house all last winter and spring, aud I gaye up all hope of
1 «yer getting spy better, as I again raided blood and my
i cough was very severe, together with a paiu in my breast
j- and under the shoulder blade. My friends now gave up
I all hopeof my recovering, and thought every day was
the last. AI tout this time I heard of your BALBA.M OF
j i.l VERWORT bring gaud for e&tts&ikpiion, but I was
j like many others, and was fearful that it inii’ht be a regu-
I lar husdnig; 1 however finally consented to try it, as I
i thought il could in ike me no worse. My brother th n
1 purchased a bottle of it at 375 Bowery, N. V. and I com
, menced taking it. and by the time 1 bad used one bottle
full i could sleep all night, and in the morning I had an
1 appetite for my breakfast. I still keep on taking il ami
1 find great benefit from il—tiie paiuiu my breast is entire
ly gone, and I raise no more blood. Within the last two
: months I have gained in weight six pounds and much in
i ilreng h. 1 would therefore advise all who have any
offec ion,©f the Lungs or Liver to try the Genuine Dr,
Taylor's Balsam of Liverwort, for I truly believe it to
foethe best remedy in existence for diseases of tlie Lungs
or Liver. Should any one doubt The rbove sf iternent re
