We the Grand Juror chosen and

in regard to the financial condition of
the oonnty, we find from the report of
the couuty Treasurer that there is now
in the Treasury the sum ot#275,00 with
demands against the county of |50
leaving a balance of *2»,00, we
'recommend (he commissioners of roads
end Revenues to assess such an amount
nfttm the S ate Tax, not exceeding one
hundred per Cunt as they may find
necessary to meet the current expenses
of the county. We also recommend
them to have the court honse recovered
an soon as possible and the steps of the
Jail leveled so as to make the platform
in front of door level. We farther
recommend them to have a bridge built
-on Pendleton oreek at or near Ricks old
mill. We have examined the Dockets
of such of the justices of the Peace and
Notaries Public as have been presented
to ns and find them correct. For the
copditToo of tbe common schools of onr

printed blanks in the most convenient
form for issuing jury scrip. In taking

TERM 1880.
Mr. Eoreman & Gentlemen:
In presenting this my third annual
report I br.ye nothing of a novel character
to claim your attention. There is a
sameness in tbe working of tbe Free
Schools iu this county that savors of
retrogression instead of advancement.
Tiie interest in education is not so
euthnsinstio as it was a few years ago I
know of no reason unless tbe pay of
first class teachers is inadequate and
does not justify , a residence in onr
county. Learning must have centres from
which it emanates and these centres
illuminate smuikr ones the university

the view to suit an; emergency passed a
resolution that the Free Sobools may be

members of the board in the district
