THE OFICIAL ORGAN OF CLINCH COUNTY
HOMERVILLE, GA.. FRIDAY, December, 16. 1910.
Oklahoma leads the souteern
states in percentage increase
with 109 per cent in ten years.
Texas is next in Hue with an in-
crease of 27 per cent, and Ark-
ansas ta^es third place with an
increase of 20 per cent.
ONE MORE CONGRESSMAN
This leaves an increase of ap¬
proximately 300,000 to be distrbut
ed throughout the state among
the smaller cities, towns and
rural districts.
Georgia gains one represen¬
tative in congress as a result of
her increase in population.
Even should the ratio of repre¬
sentation lie increased from its
present figure of 194,000 to 225,
000, Georgia would gain one rep¬
in lower house. It is
regarded as probable, however,
the basis of representation
wi'l be fixed at 215,000 or 2£0,
000 - and in either event the state
be entitle to 12 instead of 11
representat ves in the 63d con-
